Not that I know of, I will try my hardest to come, hopefully we can finish my truck this weekend, then test it all week, so Ouray isn't my test.

Okay guys lets get our plans finalized as to who is going and meeting times, trails, etc.

People who say they are coming:
Brian1 arrive Fri. night depart Mon. morning
Aspenx
mrboyle
hvac man-Saturday
marty196

People who might make it:
ahhjaws
DrKlawz

The trail itinerary that Mike posted should work, we can discuss that later if needed.

What time should we meet in the morning? 8?

Is everyone staying at Mike's Parent's property?
I will probably stay at the hotel in Ridgeway if I can get a reservation.

Saturday Group Dinner
I think it would be nice to have everyone together for dinner on Saturday night. There is a nice place in Ridgeway that we had the CCR2000 dinner at. Reasonably priced and good food. No specific time, just whenever we finish for the day.

I will update this post with info as needed.

I'll be there :D To avoid the major traffic (at least be ahead of it) we should be on the trail by no later than 9:00 (the earlier the better). That means thoes leaving from my parent's place should leave by 8:00 since it will take at least an hour to get going, stop in Ridgeway for gas/breakfast and get to the trail head.

I am taking Friday off work, so I should be at my parent's place most of the day (if I'm not there I'll be up at their other place).

I'm still trying to be able to come. My truck still isn't quite done, so I'll be a maybe.

Bad news, figures, I can't get the new coils until Friday wich puts me two days behind schedule if I wanted to go. I hope you guys have fun though. I keep on planning trips throughout the year, so maybe someone would like to join me on one of those to see the new improved jaws.

Ok I'll be there on Saturday. What trail are we going to run, and is anyone still going?

Looks like Brian 1, mrboyle, and hvac man, right?

I should get to mikes parents place fri afternoon:cool:

i should get to mikes parents place friday evening probably kinda late. but i'll be there.

You are talking about the True Grit Restaurant in Ridgway.

I can't be there with you guys (although I wish I could) but I second your excellent suggestion. When we organized that run for Labor Day 2000, there was a lot of Explorers showing up, and no restaurant within 50 miles of Ouray would commit to reserving a spot for an unknown amount of out-of-state fourwheelers on a major holiday weekend when they all knew that their restaurants would be packed all weekend anyway.

I cannot remember her name, but the manager of the True Grit restaurant not only worked with me to set up the dinner, but went out of her way to organize it with special menus and stuff and set aside the entire top balcony for our group, and she didn't know this Texan from Adam or if I was full of BS or not. It was a true "handshake" type of deal over phone lines and faxes 1,000 miles apart. When we got there, she had been true to her word and the dinner went off without a hitch, and I witnessed her turning away business that busy holiday night while taking care of our group to keep our tables for us.

I believe you need to go to that restaurant and no other for your group dinner. And if that manager is still there, let her know we remembered what she did for us and how much we all appreciate what she did three years ago for us :) Plus, you're not giving up anything to go there. The food and atmosphere were both top-notch.

Cool, so we now have Brian1, MARTY196, AspenX, Hvac Man and Me. Sounds like we'll have a good goup. Can't wait! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Is everyone except Brian1 staying at my parent's place? Hopefully they lift the fire ban so we can use the fire pit (they just lifted it here in Mesa County so chances are good).
I'm sure everyone is aware, but I just want to mention a few things. First, its starting to get cooler at night, so bring an extra blanket. Also, the weather is unpredictable this time of year, especially up on the mountains. Be sure to dress in layers and bring a jacket. You might need it.

Good point Mike. A great memory of mine is that CCR2000 weekend when we were on top of Black Bear Pass at nearly 13,000 ft looking one mile down to the town of Telluride at 8,000 ft or so. I can't remember who was in front of me, but she picked up a Telluride station on the radio and knowing that I was from Dallas, she CB'd back to me, "hey Gerald, it's 109 degrees in Dallas right now". While she was telling me that, it was snowing on us. :D I did not want to go back to Texas when that run finished :)

Mike if you and any of the other guys are up for another run in early October let me know. As I said we will have 3 weeks to work with then.

Sweet! This should be a good group of us and since we are rather small we should get alot done (depending on weather)

For in town lets use CB channel 1 or we can switch to a different one if there is too much traffic on it.

Mike, any idea what time I should meet you guys in Ridgway? 8:15? Let me know what would be best.

Well I might not make it to your parents fri nite I might just sleep on the side of the road somewhere. I will be leaving around 8:00 pm. If I don't make it where are we meeting saturday morning?

Rick we are always "wheeling" to go wheeling around here so just let us know when you want to come.

Hey Rick have you ever been here in the fall? The colors are great :)

Yep, I've been to CO several times and I lived in Denver for a year. I did a lot of site seeing when I lived there. It's beautiful in the fall.
