delta cam rocker arms trashed

Every 3cc should yield a half point,but i wouldnt shave more than .020 off unless you have the lower intake port matched.witch requires the motor to go to the shop and they really need to know there 4.0 motors.

I didnt bother going back to Delta on my issue either. Between the cost of shipping, and frustration, it just wasnt worth it to me.
As JD said, I probably had under 5000 km on mine, and my motor was noisy. Changed out lifters, and no more ticking. So, I sure hope your experience is going to bedifferent.

Ha ha, I doubt it. I'm tempted to return them when I get them but I think I will run them as is then report on it.

Why not... it's not like a failure is going too damage anything.

Your experience,knowledge, and advice have been very helpful and appreciated. Am i correct to say my heads are 98tm? On a 98?
And if i was to do anymore performance 4.0 work id pull the motor bak outta my 91 and do the 4.3 stroker kit i regret not doing everyday i drive it. I live having a v6 that sounds like a v8 and takes honda civics, not sayin much but its a 5000 pound truck that guys at work think is just loud, then there si civics get smoked

Ok dont jude me but i have a 98 accord vtec with a little work done and my x will hang with it till vtec kicks in:( this is/was before SC tho.but it is funny seeing a suv on 36 lighting them up and hanging with them ahaha ACCORD IS QUICK YO!!HHAAH:)
 






I dont have a problem with hondad at all bro. Im a tech at a honda dealer, drive em and fix ek all day long. Civics are probably the slowest hondas, but have the biggest ego ( stock that is, not saying all civics are slow). I actyally wouldnt mind a v6 accord, new or old. Especially a 6 speed;)

I "was" doing a 5speed swap in mine two weeks ago but all a sudden it started working again so part for that are on hold and im back on the supercharger for ny truck.there is some work done to the motor.ive built alot of cars/trucks but had the worst run in with police with my sleeper rice cars,its crazy what you can do with those.had a 388 stroker transam and my hundreds less hp rice burner would hang with it all day,but and say but that was NA compared to full built NOS rice burner.this will be my first supercharged motor and this motor was built for NOS not FI so boost is staying low

I had that car for 16 years and beat on it like a red-haired stepchild...

Rebuilt the engine, ported the heads and lower intake, B303 cam, headers, custom 2 1/2 exhaust, windage tray, no cats, electric fan, upgraded the front brakes, mass air conversion (made my own wiring harness), installed disc brakes on the rear axle using cadilliac calipers, made my own caliper brackets, did a 5 speed swap, on and on. It dynoed an honest HP per cube in the end... The wife wrote it off in a rain storm once and like an idiot I bought it back from the insurance company and then found another clean, white trunk stang and changed it all over... 3 of us walked out of my garage with the old shell... anyway... maybe I should stop getting so attached to cars... whatever.
 






well i made it to the machine shop today on my break, apparently my "new" heads are a hair under spec. I left the paper at work, but new from ford is like 8.95 and service limit is 8.8. one of mine is something like 8.791 and 8.88, i cant remember but the machine shop guy said its so minimal it wont cause any problems. So I called the guy at j and c where I bought the heads and according to him thats the spec for ford heads, and mine are aftermarket, and I wont have any problems. The guy is real knowledgable, and honest. He seems to think my problem is that delta grinded too much off the rocker and softened the metal. So even with a hair shorter heads, pushrods should still be 5.475 right?
 






i took .02 off the bottom of my heads, and didnt change rockers....i mean push rods. hahaha. sorry, couldnt resist.

you are fine at that spec with the same push rods
