now, i assume the procedure for rear doors remains the same. and to realign the doors, what needs to be done with that, tighten all the bolts up and its good or mess with it until its right?

basically shut it retighten shut again...it's a little tedious but it works.

njboarder yes the black box on the driver side is the harness loosen the bolt(10mm) and pull the bottom out of it....the other side is just 2 clips.

removal is the easy part..... putting them back on is a little bit trickier. maybe i'll try and develop a quick disco/reattachment system this summer. i tried last summer but it looked nearly impossible to mod the stock hinges. i made new pins on a lathe but the design of the door prevents pin removal. i work in a machine shop and have/have access to ALOT more tools/machines this summer so maybe i'll come up with something good.

Some aftermarket support for removable doors would be nice...

Aric, your explorer was the inspiration for mine. just thought you should know.

taking them off is literally 10 minutes...if that. Putting them back on takes me a good half hour to get them realigned at least...its a bit of a pita...but in the end it is so worth it.
