Early Mustang Hood scoop in an Explorer Hood...

Well, I thought I would have been done by now....but I'm not...but tonight I spent a couple more hours welding, grinding, and cutting strips to fill the outer body lines.

I'm not quite done yet, but I did get a lot closer to being done!

I have some more grinding to do, and a few more welds to do.

Let me know what you think so far!

Sorry guys.....I've just been busy with cleaning up after the flood here.....(search YouTube for Flood Videos in Kitsap County from December 3 and 4)

I am just getting back to normal here...I'll get it done, and lay some paint soon.

And as for the question of what is next.......You guys will see....I've made mention of it in a couple posts...

Ryan

Okay...I have a deadline on this now....

A few of the Northwest Explorers will be meeting up in Tahuya...I have 2 Explorers, one stock. And this one...it's not so stock.....

I'm hoping to have the hood done in time for the March 1st meeting....

Ryan

Okay guys....

Here is the latest pic...

1/2 of the hood is in a guide coat of white...that will all get sanded off tomorrow, then I'll throw a coat of glazing compound on there and final sand with 320-400...

Note that I have shaved the outer 'valley' on the hood to smooth out the lines. I don't know if I like it, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

On a sad note....Boyd Coddington, the man that inspired me to modify my vehicles like I have, and to the extent in which I have, has passed away. He was 64.

From the website www.boydcoddington.com:

Boyd, Whenever there are clounds in the heavens, we'll know it's you showing god how to do a great burnout. We love you and will deeply miss you.

Your Family, Friends, and Fans.

Thanks for posting that FROADER.....I didn't see the thread before hand.

The hood is painted!

I'll install it tomorrow night after work, and take more pics...

AT LAST:
Before, Front:

Before, Driver Side

Before, Passenger Side

Look ma'...no hood!

After:

The 'inserts' are painted, but drying. Rain is preventing me from installing them just yet.

And before anyone else points it out, I KNOW the hood needs to be adjusted to the Drivers Side about 3/32" - 1/8"...

:thumbsup:Looks pretty coooooo!

Hey FROADER....I did the 'Hot Pink' thing before..NEVER AGAIN...It was my old 1987 S-10...it wasn't so much 'Hot Pink'...I prefer to call it 'Barbie Pink'.....because that's EXACTLY what color code it was.....IN MY DEFENSE...it was my Sister and Brother-in-Law's truck. I bought it from them and it was that color when I got it....THEN I PROMPTLY PAINTED IT WHITE!....I have a thing for White vehicles.....My S-10 was painted white, after that my `79 Cutlass was painted white, and my X will stay white...

Ryan

Great work! I really like the way that looks. Can't wait to see pictures with the inserts painted and installed.
