FAKRWEE Navajo Roll Cage

Well after my last trip to Rick's a couple of weeks ago and after seeing all the rollover pics and movies at Moab I decided the time has come. Rick and I did Judgement Day and one of the obstacles is a dry waterfall. Yikes. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Lookin' good Tom :D

What did you find out about the twist in the front axle? Was that supposed to be there?

Thanks Rick. Just looking at it makes me feel safer.

Mike say's up to a certain point to avoid binding. We're going to take a close look at it when he finishes the cage.

Absolute beautiful work of art.

Not to criticize, it looks good...very professional, but isn't a roll cage supposed to be frame mounted?

They are probably sandwich mounting the floorboard. Basically you take a plate on top that is in the cab that the cage attaches to and bolt it down. Then you have another place under the floorboard bolted to the plate in the cab that is tied into the frame.

Will save your life in a roll and provides more room in the cab.

What are you paying for the cage, Tom?

Yep. Exactly right.

Mounting to the frame is a lot more complicated. You have to take into consideration frame flex and install bushings to make it work right. Also you have to attach the seats to the cage in case the body detaches from the frame so you won't get banged around. For rockcrawling what CoryL say's works. High speeds is another story.

Base price is around $800.00 to $1000.00 depending on whistles and bells. I'm also having a tire carrier fabbed in the rear behind the diagonal bar. They are using 1 1/2" steel.

I'm also going to install the sun visors on the top bar.

Josh, 1 1/2x.120.

Just received some new pics. Going a lot faster than expected.

1-Spare tire rack. Tire will lie flat at same level as cargo box Jefe is going to make for me. That way floor will be level.

Floor plate.

Diagonal reenforcement.

Lookinggreat! You took my ideas right out of my head for the most part! The BII will also be losing the back seat and the spare sitting right smack in the middle, except a little angled into the floor.........

My cage will be VERY similar to yours......

Quality of weld:D

Floor mount. Mike the welder is just plain nuts.

Sure would make a great on board air tank...........

Thanks 410. I was kind of unsure about the backseat but hardly ever use it. I can use the extra room for tools and spare parts. Also with the tire in the middle up front really helps balance.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see it finished. It looks really beefy. Hope you never need to use it :D Are you going to paint it?
