Tom (Davis),
Glad you guys made it thru the Rubicon without major damage.
You were interested in Tom's (Fakrwee) new front suspension layout. I took a few pictures of it when we were up at Big Bear a few weeks ago.
Hope they show you what you were intereted in seeing.

now I'm jealous!

Sheez! I could of used that setup on the Rubicon!

Anyway, I'm working on getting a little bit cheaper dual shock setup for the front at least. I saw on the trail an older version of the duff hoop's, and I just order the duff kit (to be modified, of course).

Now, I can't wait to get it.. I'll post more when I get it.

Thanks Peter for posting the pictures, they look great.
Tom, are you going to remove the front sway bar with that setup you ordered.
Tom

Just got the hoops today (along with a diff guard for the rear 8.8).

As for the front sway bar: not sure yet. I'm going to have them make me up some sort of quick-disconnect - but I definetly like it better with out the sway bar (mucho less sway!)

Interesting part of the duff hoops - the hoops appear to be setup for quad shocks!

Peter, I'm unable to see any of the photos of Tom's suspension. Is it working for you? Can you send me the URL of the site where they are located?

Thanks,

Rick

Rick,
I guess I shouldn't have called the thread 'Suspension setup' since I'm really just showing front shock mounts and rear shocks.
Anyway, the pictures are in photopoint and loaded automatically (the {img} thing. They didn't load for me just now either so I changed it to {url} (using the lower case brackets of course). That didn't work either. Then I tried to get directly into photopoint. No go either. I think photopoint is down at the moment. Sorry, I'll try again later.

Do you have any shots from Big Bear?

Rick,
photopoint is back. Click on the links to see the pictures.
I have a few other shots from the John Bull trail at Big Bear. Do you want me to post a few? These would be while Tom still had 33'' tires. The ones from the rerun this past week with the 35'' are not developed yet.

Peter, you can wait until you have the new photos available.

Thanks,

Rick

If anybody is interested, I put up an album of our Big Bear run. It's over in the 'Serious Exploration' section.
