Fiberglass Front Fenders mounted

I really almost can't tell the difference in whites. Since you don't have air tools, you could get some spray cans with the Ford color code paint in them.

i could do that.. where would you get that from is that something you order online? i could just wet sand any problem areas i have and get pin stripe to replace the part that is missing

Do a search. Buckshot(?) on this forum (an Explorer on 35s with Perry's fenders) posted a link to a site that had the Ford spray paint to match the factory paint codes. ;)

i can barely tell any difference between colors other than the shine from the car and not the fenders

$600 is a joke to paint two fenders.
$200 is a real quote, call around.

$600 paint job had better include, prep, paint, clear coat, and blending into the doors.

600 include the following cause i wanted it that way :

prep and align ( after i have got it this close), paint, triple clear coat on everything painted (my granpa's says it helps with scratches). blending in to hood and doors (front ones) and re pin striping.. 225 is just the fenders ford white color matched... i am going to wait and put on the rear ones in septeber and paint the whole thing at home.. maybe... wish harbor freight would send me that orbital sander so i can finish my stuff

if you want i can drive you to the eye doctors

im saying that the two whites are not that noticable definately not worth 600 to paint. i have two friends with white trucks, white f 150 and another white ranger with both unpainted white fenders and it doesnt exactly jump out at me when i look at their trucks...

ok they have been on a while and these are my thoughts on them :

1. they suck and this is why
a. perry's gel coat is not complete i got robbed .. trust me after URE i could tell EXCATLY where the finish was and wasnt.
b. i now cant see where i am going as well but it s getting better. on sharp parking lot turns.
c. my door hinges have sand in them (my fault but oh well)

2. they're great
a. NO more Rubbing at all
b. it looks beefy
c. 90% comes clean with just a hose

3. Would i recommend?

well
ummm....
you see thats kind of hard...
it depends on you..

i personally love the look and plan on some day being full width currie front and rear or long travel and i need them anyways (btw i got a benelli 12 ga instead of the rears.... sorry had to) if anyone is thinkin about them see them in person first or be like me and take a chance on them

Thats why I havent gotten them. If i was in the country with wheelin all the time and lots of back roads it would be cool. With just the 35's now its hard to manuever in the parking lots and hard to see up front.

ok updating this i just finished talkin with my welder... and now i am gonna finish the trim pieces and put them back on, thanks monmix for the advice.. i'll have pics up of them in primer in a few hours or so, i think i did a good job cutting them down.. just need to fix this ding in them and post some pics for perry

I want fiberglass inthe back too now, I am so sick of fighting this rust.
hahaha

I was able to stain my gel coat once to date, i hit some marsh mud, left it on there for a day, and the fenders turned yellow.

Boat hull cleaner removed the yellow in about 8 seconds, after it had been on there for weeks.
I wisht he whole BII was fiberglass now, hmmmmm.....

hahaha EB body conversion?

the yellow comes off with a green scubbie pad.. i wonder if we bug us bodies enough they will make fiberglass bodies for us... www.usbody.com. and 410 i might be a nieghbor of yours in march/april time frame :)

on the us body website i would love to have a couple of the hoods moded to fit my explorer which i may do some day

That caustic marsh mud stain was not coming off unless you used sand paper. trust me! It is real similar to what stains the side of your boat after a visit to the lake, no scrubbing will get it off, only chemistry.

Colorado RULES, I am a big fan.

sounds worst than bragg mud.. side note do 98-03 ranger hoods fit 2000 explorers?

I doubt it, at least not without the rest of the Ranger front clip.
