glad you like it. it is quiet. i think im gonna play musical mufflers. swap between glasspack, 40, and none at all every now an then

that is currently what i've done unbolted the bracket from the frame and to somewhat control it i put a large circle made of zip ties to allow it some play but also alow the length needed i was just wanting to eventually go to an extended line and rebolt that bracket on

Well havent really updated this in a while but did a good bit of work to the ole Explorer this past weekend.

Last time I went wheeling the clutch fan took a crap and the motor overheated pretty good. Put 4 sheetmetal screws in the clutch fan to lock it up so it wouldnt over heat anymore. Believe it was a little late. Hasnt ran right since. Started pulling plug wires with it running and it had a dead hole. Smoked a little bit always too.

Bought a Explorer off one of my buddies for parts. It had a motor that had the head checked/surfaced, new head bolts, all new gaskets, new oil pump, and a few other things. Here never finished putting it in the explorer. Got 2 m5od, 1354m, resurfaced flywheel, dual shifter/boots, and a few other things with it.

Needless to say I swapped that motor in mine. Put my water pump and thermostat on that motor since there only about a month old. Got a new set of plugs and wires to go on it, and a pcv valve.

Pulled my motor out and pulled the head off to look at the dead hole and this is what I found.

Got the new motor swapped in along with a 2.9 m5od, and the other 1354m so I can use my current one for the mockup on the doubler. The clutch looked little rough when I took it off so I took it back to advance and they gave me a brand new clutch kit free of charge.

Went to the junkyard yesterday to get a clutch fan to replace the locked solid one and while I was walking around I spotted a brand new radiator so I grabbed it also.

IMAG0120-1.jpg

Swapped that radiator in today and put a electric fan on the front incase the clutch fan ever takes a crap again I will have a back up.

So now I should be good to go for a while now. Will have some more updated later this week so stay tuned.

Dang. You have been busy lately.

Your JY finds still amaze me.

Got it all swapped out in less the 24hrs pretty much. Started on it around 4 on friday and worked until about 10 and got back on it around 10 saturday and was finished around 4 or so. Then made the junkyard run. lol

Its nice when you have access to a shop with a lift, air tools, and all that good stuff.

Going to be running coilovers???

dibs on your 1354 when you swap in your doubler

you may or may not have said this in your thread, but did you ever think to run a D60 front? I know you like to abuse your rig so I figured the thought mustve at least crossed your mind.

It definitely has crossed my mind. My pockets just aint deep enough for that yet. All the d60's I could use around here range from 600-1000 and then you still have the gear it and lock it.

Later on down the road if the 44 isnt strong enough it may some some ton axles under it. It will be easy to swap them in after I get the 44 in it.

It is where you take another transfer case and just use the front half of it which has the planetary set in it and then you cut the front output off of it. Then you put it between you trans and other transfer case and you have a choice of high, low, or double low gearing at the transfer case.

Here is one installed in another member ride.
