Front end work

a fab shop didn't do my coil buckets/shock mounts. i did them myself with a 100v lincoln fluxcore welder, and the welds didn't even break or crack :D my friend brendon has a tig welder and a tubing bender, so im planing on making some stuff with him. just gotta get around to doing it

im gonna go look this stuff on sunday cause i might buy the coil buckets. but it sounds like it might be worth it to just buy it all. cut and turned, plated and ported beams. radius arms. adjustable coil buckets. 6" skyjacker springs. and he said he'll take $350 for it :dunno:

of course cool sales start popping up right when i buy beams

Yeah you need to get with that guy and do something -- like engine cage as Dannyboy had suggested (I think in the other thread). Then just hang the fenders on the cage.

...the idea is to build and cut the cage for your truck....then let's say, your buddy brendan could weld it...;)

engine cage would be nice. im sure i'd be fine with some nice coil buckets though, you know, something thats not just stamped steel. what i really need is some 14" dual rate coilovers and hydro bump stops and about 17-18"s of travel :D

Grrr, i wish i could do all these upgrades i have in my head. I've gotta ask though, how the hell does your bank account keep up with you?? Haha. $500 seems pretty good for that front end on the explorer, i just can't spend the money right now, there are other things that need the attention. Just tires for the mounty and explorer, and what maintenance and repairs they currently need is enough for me to handle now.

If you get another set of cut and turned beams for the navajo, maybe in the future when you finish plating your BTF ones i'll buy those. Who knows...

i've looked up FOA. im just not sure if i'd want to go with them for c/o's.

you can valve them the same as kings? their site only says things like "stiff" or "medium" for valving, thats why i thought they didn't have a lot of valving options

Yep you can open them up and revalve and tune them just like all the other major coilover brands. They just dont get into the whole different valving for the different vehicles when they make them. Ive seen some in person and they are very very well built for the price.

hmm im starting to rethink them now

i know, about $700 for brand new c/o's
