Got a new truck finally.

Finally replaced my ranger that burned up back in October. I got a 2004 Silverado 4x4 extra cab with a Z71 package and the 5.3. Wont be much of a wheeler but it will make a decent tow rig once I get an off road tow in a year or so. I needed something to drive everyday day and sometimes do some long commutes. No more bumming a car of my parents.

Looked at the new fords and dont care for them at all. I really wanted a diesel pickup but they looked like they would be about $7000 more and I couldnt justify the extra cost for my needs. I got 6 years of abuse out of my ranger if I can make this truck last 15 years I will be real happy.

I like fords to our family has a bunch of them. we have a 1929, 1975, 1995 and a 1999. But as I stated earrlier I dont like the new f150s. I think they look like crap and an OHV motor belongs in a car not a truck. If I could have afforded a super duty with a diesel I would have. I think I am doing pretty well considering less then 6 months ago my house burned down, my truck burned up, I didnt have a job , everything I owned could fit in the backseat of an escort, $4000 plus in student loans from school, and a few grand in the bank.

Sense then I have less then $3000 in student loans, a new truck with 500 miles now that is over 50% payed off, have more in the bank now then I did before, and I have the perfect job for me.

May think it came from insurance but consider i recieved less the $3000 for the contents of my property and didnt get a penny for my truck I would say I am doing prtty well.

Mine was still moving forward when I dropped the transmission? Does that count? hahahayeah so it was slipping in all forward gears, yeah so it was getting worse and worse and making some funky noises.

I'd take an '04 Chevy truck over any Ford truck anyday (going by interior and exterior looks anyway).

Those are really nice trucks, congrats man. And besides nothing beats that new car smell or feel. And when you can get to Moab for free by towing 410 and having him pay your gas its all the better

I already have an open seat with rangerX for moab. Just a matter if I can get the time off of work or not. Just got my XM radio activated today. So far i like it. Only listened for a few minutes.
