I wouldn't try programming a 2nd key on your own. I talked to a key guy who tried. Not only did it not work, but it rendered the first key useless. And then you get to pay for towing to your nearest ford dealer.
After you get your second key working, buy a third and program it yourself. . that way you won't have to do this again if you loose one.
We had a 97 mustang and my sister went through $500 worth of keys (4 sets (key and fob) i think).
