- 1996 Ford Ranger
My fiance just replaced the clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder on his 1996 ford ranger. Truck will now not go into gear AT ALL, whether truck is on or off, it doesn't shift at all. Clutch pedal feels normal, however when the pedal is let out it makes a hissing noise and there is a ticking noise as well. When trying to rock the truck into a gear, the truck tries to jerk forward when the clutch is let out and resists any shifting at all. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Truck also started smoking, however my fiance thinks it is some of the "knock 'er loose" burning off that he used to remove rusty bolts. HELP PLEASE
