I Got Stuck In Some Pretty Deep Water And Flooded My Interior. I Burned Out The Power Seat Motors On My 2000 Explorer Limited. The Major Electrical Problem I Am Having It The Power Door Locks Do No Engage Or Disengage With The Button On Door Or The Key Fob, But The Alarm Arms Itself With The Button. Does Anyone Know What Is Causing My Locks To Not Work? Everything Else Seems Ok. Any Help Will Be Greatly Apprecaited.

Thanks.

No need for all caps. Did you flood the motor, transmissions, and axles? I'd be more concerned about those. Get the truck inside where its heated, start labeling things, and then unplug them to make sure the connections are all dry. Mark, and pull the relays from the main box under the hood. I'd use dialecrtic grease on all the connections I could to prevent corrosion, and electrical gremlins from popping up for years.

Ok, thanks. Another thing I find weird is the controls on the steering column work except the radio station change button and volume, everthing else on the wheel works. What gives?

Electrical problems. You have to expect them after sinking something. Electronics and water don't play nice.

You need to both dry everything up and displace the water as much as you can- this won't resolve itself in a couple of days. I'd also recommend pulling your carpet out to make sure the wiring under it gets dried out. You have a lot of wiring to dry up... And it is going to be a big deal, so clear your schedule for a bit... :(

Yeh, i spent most of today doing that. I now need to order a carpet

You can always run the carpet down to the quarter wash and powerwash it, maybe you won't need to buy new. If the carpet cleans up, you can always get new jute (gray insulation stuff under it) backing on the cheap, and sabe the $150 plus shipping (cheapest I've seen) you'll spend on new carpet. That doesn't include the rear section of carpet if that's trashed too...

Ok, so my everything is back to normal for the most part. There was a noise coming from what I believed was the diffs. I had them both changed and the noise still continues. Its not a grinding noise, but more of what my buddy calls an "airplane noise". LOL Its only when I turn, it makes somewhat of a like a rubbing sound and a vibration when turning only. Normal straight driving is fine. Any suggestions?

i know that noise... i hydrolocked my 94 last year and it still makes that noise to this day... mine seemed to be coming from the front right wheel. we tried changing the wheel bearings on that side but it didn't work... still cant figure it out.

that sux bout ur limited explorer

Did you check your CVC joint? My mom had a similar noise with her car and we found out it was something in the CVC joint.

It's a cv joint not cvc :)

When Constant Velocity (CV) joints are worn they will being to make noise when turning. The sharper the turn the louder the noise. Does the noise occur the turning both left & right? Also parts of the wheel well can come loose after such an adventure. So inspect the wheel and fender areas for any signs something came loose and is now rubbing.

i know my ball joints are in pretty S#!t shape but i don't think that would have anything to do with that noise... damn... anyone care to enlighten me how much a cv joint is going to put me in the red?

95+ have cv joints, 91-94 have u joints

Not to run all over this thread but on a 96 explorer that has the center axle disconnect, would the CV joints do this even if the axle is in the disconnect position, I'm having malfunctions with it and hate to start a new thread if the answer is already here.
