My rear differential is making a lot of noise when I go down the road. My mechanic buddy said that my rear pinion bearing is going bad and needs to be replaced. He can't do it and my research has found that this is going to cost 1500-1800 bucks. Another buddy suggested that I just replace the entire 'pumpkin'. Does anyone have any advice on this? How hard is it? How much should I plan on spending on the part? Any ideas on where I can get a reliable one?
