Cluster gauge went out one day.
Removed instrument panel and took out each gauge.
Burnt plastic smell coming from the gas and temperature gauge set.
Slight discoloration on white plastic under temperature gauge housing only. Nothing severe.
Everything else is fine.
Circuit board/ film was cleaned and passed testing.
Bulbs exchanged for new ones since it was already open. Not LED.
Anti-slosh board was cleaned and passed testing.

I put it all back together and installed it back into the dash.
I turned on the truck and everything worked for 15 seconds before all of it shutting back off and the burning plastic smell from behind the same set of gauges.
Removed the cluster again.

I have all the correct fuses and relays in the correct spots.
None of them tested bad.
I no longer have a guess where to look for the issue.

Ideas?

Replacement gauge set doesn't work either.

I’d pull the cluster and take a look at the circuit board

Is the fuel. temp and oil pressure still working?

UPDATE
So I had my wife’s mom go through the circuit boards since she repairs them for government entities. Everything checks out fine. I plugged it all back in and it worked for all of 30 seconds then died and the burnt plastic smell came back.
Wiring looks and tests fine. What am I missing!?

Burnt smell is coming from the gas gauge and temp gauge section.
Can I just repair the servo motors for the gauges? Or is there a problem with the board?

Alternator no longer gets excited and charges battery. I have to manually excite it to work.

Had a shop test continuity in the wiring harness and was told it passed.

I put it all back together and installed it back into the dash.
I turned on the truck and everything worked for 15 seconds before all of it shutting back off and the burning plastic smell from behind the same set of gauges.
The alternator did get excited and function correctly.
Removed the cluster again.

There are wiring diagrams linked below in my sig. Trace the circuit with a multimeter, especially power and ground, and you might check for blown fuses again.
