Jon And Sheri's Vitamin D Wagon

Well, she put up good fight but I finally got the radius arm brackets in place. It took all blasted day to get 2 brackets installed.
I did have to go track down a 5/8" drill bit. That took a while.

They are exactly the same distance from the leaf springs-

I also had to trim a bit of the trans cross member as it was hitting the arm in up travel a bit.

On the passenger side of the frame there is an area where the frame has a double wall. The front bolt for the bracket is in this area so I need to get a bolt about 1/2" longer just in this one spot.

Other than that I think I am ready to start putting it all together.

Thanks Brian I may take you up on those.

I got a set of 4 degree and was hoping those in combination with the angled arms would be about right.

As far as pictures go, I think I left off with filling the rocker holes with foam

Then I herculiner'd the rockers, door bottoms and door jambs

Gotta love the look of longer radius arms!! Looks great will ride great and flex so much better. Keep it coming..

The For Sale sign is a joke right?

Jon did your arms mount right up or did you have to pressure them into the mounts any?

I need to check mine out and see if i can flip mine. I have mine turned the other way where the indention is on the inside. I think mine didnt want to fit right that way?

Welcome back to the 21st century :)

Those arms look way cool! Now keep them purdy...lol

Truck looks good Jon. It has your touch on it now.
The arms come in black, but in the web site ad they are shown white.

needs more mud :D

Ick

It's about time we got to see some pictures:D It's look great Jon, watch out for the mounty though she's going to start getting really jealous.

I got a card reader and actually read the instructions

Looks absolutely gorgeous. The arms look great under there. Have you looked into the B II gas tank anymore?

Justin
I am still considering it. LMC truck stocks them. I think I said earlier they were 120.00 but they are actually about 100.00

The For Sale sign is a joke right?

How much money do you have? :D
I took the sign down.

Getting the c wedge clamps on is no picnic but other than that they went right in. The indent is there for tire clearance.

Lookin' good, Jon.

Thanks Colin:D

Well, I did run into another "unplanned" item.
The lower coil spring mounts were "wedged" to account for the severe angle on top of the stock radius arms. I had to take them to a machine shop to have the wedge angle changed and the holes re trued to that angle.

Meh

I officially hate you and your white powder!

The truck is so happy to be in your hands. Now stop trying to sell it every month.

OK in this picture it doesn't show the pinion angle too well but drive shaft ngle should give you an idea.
IMG_0794.jpg

Keep in mind this is a low pinion d44

The wild horses arms seem to be cut and re welded to correct the caster angle. So, using the 4 degree c wedges might have been a bad idea. I think 0 degree would make for a better pinion angle don't you agree?

Reason I say this is the drive shaft seems maxed out in length now, with room for more droop at the arms. It is also hitting the cross member already.

A Zero will make it worse wont it. You need a 7 degree. Its free if you end up needing it. But mine are red.

You gotta wait until you get springs in it to decide what to do.

Get the springs in, and have it sitting on jackstands with the wheels off at ride height. Make sure the front diff on stands is sitting were it would sit with wheels/tires on it. Not having it at perfect ride height with the suspension settled will throw off any kind of measurements.

Then measure your caster. If you're running 4 degree bushings and you get a 4-6 degree reading then you're good. However with the 4 degree bushings and say you're at 0 degrees caster then you know stepping up to the 7's will work.
