Tonite a friend goes driving on a dirt road beside a field and gets stuck in mud bad its almost to up to the rear bumper on her sebring so of course first person she thinks to call is me so I go up and I figured it wasnt going to weight much I loop the tow strap through sway bar or somethin underneath the rear of her car and pull it through the front of my bumper through the 2 holes and connect it at the hooks and well I was wrong my bumper isn't as strong as what I thought bent the SOB outwards now it looks like this. Guess I now have a good reason to get a normal black bumper like I've wanted :D and going to have some steel plates welded into it so its stronger :) (And I know the bumpers aint made for that I just figured it wouldn't hurt and wasnt as flexible)

Yeah...I know but the way that mud was..and the way my rear seems to spin easier I was thinkin if more weight is put on the front of my explorer that i'd have lesser chance of spinning lol

...now you know why people mount recovery points front and rear...:D

This was my quick fix to the bumped I put the exploder in 4X4 Low and creeped up to the tree then got out checked to make sure I'd be ok and then just let the clutch out a little I heard a little bit of a metal crumplin sound got out and it looked as good as its going to get for now :)

poor tree ha. well never hook a strp up to a ball hitch....those things canbreak under to much pressure..... and well cause damage...

Chalk that one up for future reference.. btw did you free the Sebring?

heck yeah, I pulled it out no prob. I just put it in 4low so wouldnt have to slip the clutch and pulled it right out.

And I never have hooked any strap up to the ball, the only thing I had wrapped around my ball was a chain and that was to pull a tree out of the way that lightning struck down. And when I towed cars I looped the chain or strap through the crossmember that the ball is on between that and the back of the bumper.

good deal. lol.

Are those holes on the bottom of my back bumper for a bumper hitch? I was wondering if thats what they're for or not. I don't know why you would want a bumper hitch you don't really benefit except for being able to have your trailer sit more level.

No those are for the safety chains if you are using the bumper hitch

Oh ok....I've been hookin my safety chains there when I use the trailer I just thought maybe they were for a bumper hitch

thats where i put my chains I didn't know if it were for a bumper hitch hookup or what. them chains come in handy one time moving my aunt with the old explorer the trailer somehow came unhooked goin down the road and if them chains werent there I would been chasin the trailer down the road lol.

Now THAT'S a good use for torque :D
