New here, I've looked high and low and actually shocked that I can no tfind these.

I am looking for LED tail lights with a lense that looks simular to the stock ones. I recently purchased a set for a Colorado for my S10, they are TYC brand LED tail lights with a stock like lense, no chrome or altezza style. I'd like to find something simular and classy for our newly aquired Explorer but am having no luck.

Any of you Explorer experts have any leads on such tail lights for me?

Thanks for any help.

Well that's pretty dumb. I understand the fast directionals, my motorcycle suffers from it since I intergrated my directions with my LED brake light, and my tail light conversion on my truck will be the same. Flashing fast doesn't bother me, but if it effects the transmission that might be a problem. lol

Are tail brake lights the only ones that cannot be LED? I wanted to replace all bulbs in my truck with LED's (except for headlight/fogs, of course)

I saw that link for the LED tail light. Unless the manufacturer is unaware of the problem on Ford vehicles, it might cause the grounding problem with the TCC solenoid. Maybe it has internal shunts installed in the housing? The problem is only related to the stop lights, and not the turn signals (providing that the flasher is electronic). A mechanical flasher will blink faster without a shunt. So if these function properly, they probably have a shunt built in. I hope they made it replaceable if it burns out.

dayum they make em for the 02-04
I just need to make my own for the BII and the Sploder.....

you can go to superbrightleds.com for the bulbs you also will need one resistor for each light that you change to led resistor size 6 ohm 50 watt

yea i recently bought some LEDs and im having the same blinker problem... but my advice to any of u... just deal with it being fast if u dont feel like going to the hassle..

Thanks for the link 02ExOnDubs! That is just about exactally what I was looking for!

If these were installed how would I know I have a problem if one occurs? Will it throw a sevice light? Also would it be possible to trick the system by having a factory bulb wired in and just tucked away in the sheet metal or behind the light housing?

Either way thanks for the help. Now I have to convince the wife to purchase them. It's her Explorer and said I have my own truck to do stuff to without having to touch her's. lol

Oh well a little at a time, we just picked it up two weeks ago.

Did you install the BilletAmerica LED taillights? Were there any issues because of it? Let me know. Thanks,.

I bought them back in December. They showed up cracked. Billetamerica.com made me pay to ship them back ($25), and then they sent me a new set. Those showed up cracked too. Again, they made me pay $25 to ship them back, and they finally gave me a refund for the purchase price. I was out $50. They tried to force me to take the refund as a store credit, but I finally got them to refund my card. I would never, ever buy anything from billetamerica.com, and I certainly would not recommend those headlights, as they are apparently very flimsy and would likely break after the first bump in the road. To my knowledge, they have stopped selling them.

hey, thanks. ill keep it in mind (not to try haha)

opielab,

I haven't purchased them yet. Trying to talk my wife into it, it's her truck. She likes them she just doesn't want to spend that much on them when there is a possibility that they might cause a problem. We already have enough problems with our Explorer. lol
