I dont have the balls to do the 3" BL, it has to many fuzzy 'could be' problems

it could happen, just make sure your sawzall is in great working order. If you wheel, like really wheel then you will have to trim a signifigant amount, if you drive on the street and do some light stuff then you should be "alright" but will still have to trim.

ok guys here's my question, I'm sure it's already been answered in here somewhere but I have a 99 sport and I plan to put LT265/75/R16 on it will these fit ok? I have the monoleaf spring in the rear with an extra leaf added and re-arched to gain approx 2" and I have done the TT to level the truck off, so it sits about 2" higher then stock. Is this enough lift or do I need shackles? I'm not afraid to do some trimming, any insight would be great.
Thanks
:)

Ahh what the frack, I will try it and if worse comes to worse my fenders will look about like dougs ;)

31's

What is a good 31x9.5 tire, also can I put 31x10.5's on my stock 1992 15x7 rims
thanks

Tire Sizes

If you had a 4.5 in lift like I do, the biggest tire size you can go with no trimming or rubbing is a 32x11.5. I run a ProComp all terrain, and I love them. There is hardly any road noise, and agressive enough to handle mud, snow, and the don't dig too much in beach sand. I couldn't be happier with them!

How much lift does the Perry's Fenders replace, if any? Like, will the 6" fenders replace the need for a 3" BL?

Perry's fenders and associated trimming does make up for about 2-3" of lift. However, the only thing it doesn't do in the front that a lift will is distance the center of the tire from the swaybar so it has more of a chance of rubbing. Not a big deal.

Big tire, less lift is the way to go in all terrains except mud.

I was reading the begining of this thread and had to laugh a little. Someone asked if they could get 35s on a 2nd Gen X with 6" of lift...the answer was yes with a "little" trimming.

I have a 3"BL, 4" Superlift and TT for an additional 1" which is 8" of lift in the front. The rear has a SOA and 4 door leafs and sits about 1.5" higher than the front. I have trimmed a bit on the front and still rub when the wheel is turned at a certain angle. I have 15x8s with 35 BFG ATs.

I cannot off-road with this setup unless I do some major trimming of the fenderwells. I have already cut the inner fender to where the bolt for the fender is and even bent the metal back some. Stick with 33"s if you plan to go off road! The only four wheeling i do is Pennsylvania winters!

If you had the fiber fenders, at least in front, and less lift (maybe not the BL) you wouldn't rub except on the swaybar.

I know with 3" more on mine (for 6" total susp) I could have fit 35s.

What's the biggest tire you can fit under the Explorer with the X-Spec suspention kit w/o modifying the fenders or anything?

i have a 95 explorer limited. i just want to know how big of a tire can i go at stock height? thanks

Steve, 31x10.50 tires are as big as you can go.

I recently purchased a 1993 Explorer Eddie Bauer and wanted to install the 31x10.5 tires on the stock rims. I was wondering if there was anything else I would need to do. I do not plan on installing a lift, but mainly want to get rid of the ugly passenger car tires on it now. Also, has anyone else put 31s on the stock wheels without a lift and how well did it work.

I agree Alec. Bpatee, tons of people have done exactly what you want to do.

Is it that hard for people to read the first post in this thread? I mean, i can't hardly tell em to search b/c they're posting in the same friggin thread!

I know the first post says the max tire sizes and says that a '95 with 1-2 inches of lift could fit 32's with some extensive fender trimming. how extensive would that be? I'm gonna need new tires soon and i got just about 2" out of my tt/shackles and have 30's now and it seems like theres tons of room in there.

More than just plastic, most likely some metal too. Front bumper, front fender, maybe thinning the rear fender lip....
