Can anybody help me anwser this question? I have an 06 xlt 4x4 v8 with 245/65/17 's on it and i wanted to go a little bigger. I was looking at something like a 265/70/R17. I just wanted to know if anyone can tell me if this will fit without rubbing. I didn't want to do any trimming of the fenders. And if it wont fit if they knew what was the biggest size i could fit on my rim?
Thanks.

what would be the conversion for this size No lift- 31x10.50x15 on 15x8 rim, becuase i have currently 15in stock mountaineer rims on my X... my dad took my stock 255/70/16 and put those on his mountaineer and it didn't look that bad on his truck, but i want some BF All terrain tires but i have no lift. so question is can i use the 31x10.50x15 on the stock mounty rim or do i need to get some aftermarket rims... i was already looking into some pro comps rock crawler in 16x7.5 with the 255/70/16 BF all terrains ko... i forgot to add i have a 98 xplorer 2wd eddie baurer with the stock flares

doesnt matter, 32" tall is 32" tall the rim size never changes the outside diameter of a 32" tire

Okay thanks this is for my friend's X, i just installed 15x8 with the 31x10.50x15 tires on my 98 X and now he wants the same setup for his X.. but i noticed that he might no be able to run 15in rims becuase of the brake caliper,

so i guess 32x10.50x16in with some 16x8 rims should be good i think... or the 16x8 with 265/75/R16

31x10.5 = 265-70
32x??= 265-75
I forget the width for the 32. No matter what size rim the tire size will be the same. (265-70-R16/265-70-17 both the same)

my rims ??

hey guys, i have a 03' XLS...

i havent been able to find out what size rims i have???

i believe they are 16''x ??? - heres what the rims look like

http://images.cars.com/main/DMI/666/82048A.jpg

i like these rims and i want to buy ALL TERRAINS for winter...

i know the max tire size i can fit w/ NO LIFT !!!, but i would like to know if i can find 31'' ALL TERRAINS that will fit my STOCK rims... im sure there are

mainly looking for the width of my rim so i know how wide of a tire i can fit w/out rubbing/trimming and all that stuff

thanks guys

ok i understand now...

i didnt know what those numbers actually meant - but i did look up the meanings for each number

my current tires are 235/70/16 on my 03' XLS

can anyone with a ( 3RD GEN WITH NO LIFT ) tell me how big of a tire your running ???????

i need some imput - thanks guys !!!!

i know 32x10.50 etc.

i want to see what other people with 3rd gen's have on there explorers with NO LIFT

thats what i was getting at in my last post... sorry if that post was misleading

thanks guys

Sorry if my last one was misleading. The chart was made after people with 3rd gen with NO LIFT put on what they could with no modifications/trimming. The chart tells you what the biggest size people with NO LIFT have.

aaahh ok i hear yea... thanks for atleast being the only person to help me solve my question

thanks dude !!

Does anyone have any info on 2007 X?

want to put on biggest tires w/o rub & no lift.

I am running 265/75/16 on mine with bugger all lift but I'm using 1" hub adapters (soon to be 1.5"). ktford is running 265/70/17 (effectively same size as 265/75/16) on his with no lift and no hub adapters, but he initially got a small amount of rubbing at full lock - nothing a cable tie or two can't fix though. Come to think of it, I initially ran mine with no hub adapters too, and also got very minimal scraping on the inner plastic fender splash guard thing at full lock.

TPMS & Stability Control and Tire Size

Does anyone have a 2005 Explorer with TPMS & Stability Control and have put larger tires on the stock rims? Please refference the below which is posted in this forum. My goal is to install 265/75/R16 as I currently have 235/70/16.

I have an 05 Eddie Bauer with TPMS and RSC. I have NO lift...yet. I am currently running Dick Cepek 265/75/16's with absolutely no problems. (except for needing to move my tpms sensors over to the new rims)
