Limited Bumper Cover Help

hi,
i bought a limited edition bumper cover for my 96 xlt 4d ... i was told it will go over the stock bumper, but it doesnt... what do i have to do to get the cover on properly.. if anyone has done this before or knows how to, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Im planning on doing the same thing to my explorer too & Im also wondering if someone else has done this beforee..Ive searched the forums but havent found anything yet..

this page from www.lmctruck.com shows the difference between limited and non limited bumpers.
I think you need to get a limited (possibly mountaineer) plastic-foam bumper core ( impact bar) to lay the bumper cover onto.

This really sucks..Im going to have to see If I can find everything cheaper in the junkyard or online...or else Im going to be forced to make it custom..Do you know if fiberglass or bondo will work with bonding together the chrome and the plastic???
