We will be there on the 17th also.
Maybe even one day earlier, we will see.
Gerald, are you planning on stopping at Ouray? I think that is just to early, they will still have to much snow. Let me know, I know Rob talked about it also. Keep in touch.

Do they have KOA cabins there? Did anyone stay there last year, if so how was it?
Thanks,

****nevermind I just found the site, looks like we will be staying there.
Gerald, how much is it at the motel?

Sinjin,
We will be staying at the KOA either in a camper or the Cabins. Haven't decided which will be cheaper.
They also said you can get a 10% discount with 6 or more cabins I think is what they said. I checked into it, but forgot.

Made my reservations for the Silver Sage. May 18,19,20!!

Gerald...all of the passes are plowed open for memorial day. It is pretty cool to drive thru a cut in a 20ft snow drift up the montain.

Well we kept talking the date to death until I got tired of it and decided to plunge ahead, grab a resv, and see who would join in. Now we seem to have gotten confirmation with others making resv too. May 18th weekend it will be.

HIX, yeah I knew that about the Ouray area passes, but we'll be there before Memorial Day, so I'm thinking it will be impassable. Correct me if I am wrong, 'cause I'd sure like to play there while I am out there.

Rick, you had to leave the Silver Sage last year because you couldn't stay hooked up to monitor the website. Has something changed? Did the Silver Sage join the 20th century or something?

Do you fellas have any info on how i can get ahold of those silver sage people? i need some info on lodging there. sorry if i missed it in an earlier post.

It was Char who needed the connection for her college class. I can manage to stay away for a few nights :D

Riffman,
Here is the web page for the Silver Sage I think.
Dead Link Removed

Thanx Perry!! Preciate it!

(you get them brakes at Pep Boys? hehehehehe....)

Rooms at the Inn....

I just made reservations at the Silver Sage Inn. 18,19,20
The whole family will be on this run. Now to finish getting the Truck back togather. Also, need to figure out how to tow it.....Should I sell the Trans Am and get a Suburban?

Ready for MOAB!

First Timers, refer to the trail list on the main page. Good Christmas ideas on the list and you will need them for MOAB. ( Straps,D-Rings,CB's, & Tire patch kits )

YES!!!!!

Im locked in!! Just made my reservations for the 18th 19th and 20th!!! YAHOOO!!!

G....It's only a week or so before. They start plowing weeks ahead of time because they HAVE to have it open for Mem Day.

LMAO!

Just made my reservations at the Silver Sage. It was so funny, when he asked for my address and I said Texas. He flipped out(well at least I think it was a guy, not sure), he said "What is the deal with you darn Texans coming up here that weekend!" lol, he didnt say it rudely, I just think he was trying to say it in his head but accidently said it aloud.

hahahaha....yeah...for me, they were like, whats going on that weekend thats bringing people all the way from Illinois?!?!

on a different note, did ya'll know that in Mission Impossible 2, where Tom Cruise is climbing rocks, thats in Moab?! I didn't know that!! This place is gonna rock!!!!

Hix, You got me thinking now. Maybe I should drive to Ouray on the way back and maybe hit a trail passing through.
Do you know which trails would be open? Do they post that info somewhere, I'm sure the kids would love snow in May.

Snow in May

The kids won't get just a small amount of snow, they will get to see ALOT of snow!! If it is anything like Trail Ridge Road, they have to cut out a path thru the snow, and you drive down the road with snow walls taller than the cars on both sides!!!!!!!! I think the kids will love it!
