Nate's 2005 Explorer XLT 4X4

I hope with a lift those bolts wont get damaged or be in harms way.
I've scanned a sketch of my tire rack. A few changes need to be done but its just the first sketch.
The 24" is supposed to be the inner bracket and 25 1/4" is supposed to be the outer bracket.

The tire rack is going to swing outwards to allow for the tail gate (at least the window) to open. I still need to figure out how to work the license plate because if I leave it on all the time the plate has to be lit up at night.

EDIT: For those who may not know this will hook into the 3rd Gen factory hitch

Look's good! Maybe a number plate frame under the tyre (if there is enough room) with internal wiring and some white led's?

I need to place my tire on and see where it sits before I figure out where to put the plate. It will probably be towards the bottom of the carrier.
I was hoping to figure out the running light color on my 4-pin trailer wiring and hook the wiring up to some LEDs. So whenever I turn my lights on I have power to the LEDs and whenever the lights are off those are off.
I just don't know what the running light wire color is on the 4-pin connector.

There was a thread a couple of day's ago describing just that (4 pin connector) with diagrams but I cant remember what or where it is. Had to do with reverse light's I think. A voltage meter will help if we cant find that thread.

Hmm... I must have missed that.
I assume a 4-pin has to have a wire for running lights.

Yep, running light's, indicator's and brakes but no reverse. Trial and error would only take a few minutes anyway I s'pose.

Here you go Nate. Let me know if the wiring diagram for the exterior lighting.

4 way flat molded connectors allow basic hookup for three lighting functions; right turn signal / stop light (green), left turn signal / stop light (yellow), taillight / license / side marker (brown) and a ground (white).

Thanks Rondo! That's the answer I needed! :biggthump

Good work on the skid plate Nate! It looks great. Between you and Lynchy you guys have me wanting to fab one up. I have already smashed my push bar in, and scraped up the bumper. I could probably benefit from one.

Pick up my last piece for a tire rack. :D I got this at a bargain price!
-Next friday I can hopefully finish this up. I'm going to try to start welding the angle irons on this thursday and do drilling and cutting probably friday or saturday.

Quick mock up of my tire rack ;) Welding and assembly starts hopefully next week

Look's great! The vertical bar goes to the hitch ay?

Well I tried to keep the ability to tow with the tire rack on, but that wont work out. I want full use of my lift gate and with the tow hitch I can only use the window. So I will cut down a hitch, bolt it to the back, and make a stop so that I can swing this far enough back to get use of the lift gate.

Coolio:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I dumped the exhaust on my Ex right after the axle and I will say the sound is 100 times better than with the tip. I'm going to get a pipe on there to replace where the tip was, but for now I am going to leave it how it is.
No pic for now... Waiting until tomorrow.

So without a tip the rice is gone and the magnaflow can stay. The exhaust is probably about as quiet as stock, but roars when you give the Ex some throttle.

u got sound clip
