2007 Ford explorer 4.0
Hi everyone, I have a 2007 explorer with a 4.0. I have had a check engine light on for a fuel cap leak. I replaced the cap with no help. I looked under behind the filler neck and found a small vacuum hose that was brittle that had a small white vacuum type connector with a cap on it. I cut the hose back to reinstall the end piece, but the hose had a bigger end that the connector went on. I was going to get some hose and adapter pieces to make it work...but I lost the little white end connector. I have searched and even went to the dealer, and they can't tell me what the part is called so I can order it. I pray someone can help me.
Thank you and God bless.

Did the dealer show you a parts breakdown of the fuel filler assembly?

Hi,
Yes he did and the extra hose is not in his diagram..... frustrating to say the least

That may be one of those things you will only find used at a junk yard.

I might be wrong but your description sounds like a rear differential vent tube end cap.
I will look into that.....but it would be strange for that part to be all the way up the fender.
Thank you!

Not necessarily. The vent tube open end is tucked up high to keep it clear as possible from water due to driving in the rain and deep water.

Hi,
That does look like it. I haven't been able to climb under to verify yet. Thank you and God Bless You.
Merry Christmas!!
