Need help With 1 Speaker/Amp install... I'm a newb :(

I am planning on replacing the rear cargo pocket with a single 8" or 10" sub. I don't want care for just heavy bass. I just like my music loud and clear.

I plan on going with like a 10" 300W RMS sub and 300ish watt amp. I DO NOT want an extra speaker box in the back and do plan on replacing my factory speakers also.

Can someone shed some light on the following?

How big can i fit there?
How to mount the sub there?
Where can I hide the amp?
Do I need another AMP for my other speakers?
Is it worth going to a newer HU than my few year old KW?

I just want clarity when i crank SOAD or other decently hard rock but also want nice and soft music when I can't get loud.

Educate this newb please...

If you go to http://www.crutchfield.com they will have a low profile box that has a sub that is allready hooked up to an amp. These sound good, and also take up minimal space.
