truth is Aldive the interval changes. I am pretty **** about the BII, but I dont freak out if it's been 5015 miles since the last change.
I shoot for 3500 or so but will change it after a long road trip, playing in the dirt or as soon as I can get to it.
I understand your concern about me wasting good oil, hahaha some of my friends joke: "Man didnt you jsut change that? Can I have your old oil?" etc...hahaha
I do recycle. 5 quarts of Castrol Syntec (full synth) is like $18 and Motocraft FL-1A is $3. I don't see $25 or so (taxes, etc) 4 times a year as a biggie. I have personally seen my own engines opened up after 200-250K miles, one of wich I know had Mobil synth it it since day one from the factory (94 Ex) and Motocraft filters. You could still see the factory hone marks in the cylinder walls, the lifters, pushrods, and rockers had little sign of wear, there was almost no sludge in the pan, etc. Compression was within 5% at each clyinder and at 190 psi if I remember right (remember 5280' elevation) This engine has now been shipped to Froader to use in his Explorer. Lets see if he can get another 200K out of that sucker.
It may be true, I may be changing my oil before its time, I also may be late with a few of my changes, but so far this method works well for me and my engines. I recylce the old stuff so throwing $$$$ away? I don't know about that my underdrive pullies

hahaha just kidding.
I like Amsoil, have seen good things, but its just not for everyone and might be overkill for some.
Just curious:
How much is a case of Amsoil with filters shipped to your door?
How many oil changes will a case do?
