hello to all, if you keep up a little in the past on the forum you would come across a thread on painted cladding on the 3rd gen. explorers. I responded with myself getting mine painted for 1500 dollars. Well I am in Japan and i go home on leave from the Marine Corps next week on the 6th for one month to bag my truck. Apparently my mom says the painted cladding on the bottom half of my truck is flaking off. What would cause this? Did the body man not do it right? Or is it just hard as crap to get paint to stick to the textured surface? I am going to have to redo it. I will post pics of the truck before and after. I think you are supposed to clean it thoroughly and then use a primer/filler on it and sand it a few times. But I think the guy did not use the primer/filler because it is still textured. At any rate, any input is greatly appreciated.
