Here is the latest track times from Sat night. At 9# boost and trans slipped from 1-2 shift and 3-4 shift. I believe once my tranny woes are behind me I will go 7.9x's to 8.0x. I will post the timeslip at the first opportunity. Just thought you guys would enjoy this. 1/4 calculator (1/4mile et=1/8 mile et+.22/.665)would put me solidly in the 12's @ 12.766

R/T -.046
60' -1.900
330 -5.362
1/8 -8.270
MPH -84.53
:D

Your a slackin James. :D Just kidding buddy. Were you able to line up against anything decent in the other lanes? I forget if you mentioned that when we talked yesterday.

Your right rocket... I am slacking but business constraints have me not able to do the little things. I do have the run on video as well and no I didn't get to run anything which was quick. I need to upload to my website and host it on there. I may also do a putfile.

I did attach the timeslip in post #1.

I am just playing with ya buddy. I am a big slacker at times too. Real obligations come first, fun second.

I have no idea about drags and/or timing them. That being said, how accurate is that 1/4 "calculator" equation, and how can that be applied to different vehicles?

The 1/8th mile to 1/4 mile converting calculators are usually pretty accurate. Of course there are certain things that will govern how accurate they are, namely what your powerband looks like and how the launch went.

namely what your powerband looks like
That's why I was confused. I imagine there could be quite a discrepency comparing cars with completely different power bands.

Not a really large one because by the time a given vehicle passes the 1/8th marker it has already gone through at least one full gear and is onto the next one so the overall average isn't that different. What makes the biggest difference in powerband is for example an Eaton M90 setup that will rip out of the hole and probably to the 1/8th mile, but on the back half the little M90 is running out of steam BIGTIME! For most average setups the calculators are usually accurate to within .10-.15 in the 1/4 which isn't that large a margin.

what is your average 1/4 mile time rocket? i think i am looking to hit a solid 18 in my ohv.

put it this way, most Exploders run about that mph in the 1/4, not the 1/8th

This is James thread, PM me if you are curious on my info regarding 1/4 mile ET's.

With what James is hitting in the 1/8 he should be pushing 12.7's in the 1/4 mile like he mentioned above. Pretty quick for an Exlporer, let alone A V6 EXPLORER!

 Damm James--Imagine if the trans wasn't slipping--

What's up JT have seen or heard from you in a while. Tranny problems are fixing to be history. I am swapping in a 5R55s. Tuning out my trans controls in my pcm and using a standalone to control the new tranny. I will post in another thread about the swap in detail.

what kind of tires do u have when your at the track? thats a pretty damn good 60ft time.

I think he runs ET Drags at the strip.

You would be surprised what kind of 60' times you can pull at the track even with the stocker AT's! Yes, they suck balls for traction but you can pull 1.9's in those with some good driving. ;)
