On the way home from dinner tonight I bumped into one of those new GMC Yukons at an interection where there is a good strech of 2 lanes that then turn into a single lane rather quickly. Needless to say I thought that it was going to be easy and I thought to myself that it was going to be sorta funny to blast down the road and take the lead into the single lane strech of the road. Little did I know that when the light turned green that the rather pissed off lady :fire: :burnout: in the Yukon thought the same thing. Next thing I know she is going for it and I mean "Going For it". So right foot firmly planted on the skinny I hammer along next to her through first and then second gears, with both of us holding the lead or small portions of the run. The only problem was when I hit third we were hammering through the 60's, with the 70's fast approaching, and there was no more lane for me to be in. So with 2/3 of a body length it came to me that racing a 70+ on the rumble strip was probably a poor idea  so I let off the gas and, well you all know what happens form there.
Have any of you bumped into the new Yukons. Lastly I would like to ask for forgiveness from the forum, :notworthy for being a novice and for lossing to a GMC.

Don't worry about it. You might of been in the slick lane?

thanks

just get her next time

haha well atleast you had a good time! get some performance mods and blow their doors off haha

Gotta watch out for the soccer moms. They know how to compete!

Some women are bigger, badder than you would think, she prob'ly has a Trans Am at home or somethin'................hahaha :)....prob'ly put a performance chip in her Yukon too :)

At least you had looks with your Explorer as opposed to a Yuckon (spelled that way on purpose)

Hmm i hate it when people get in the lane thats ending to try to race past you. It seems alot of people do, my dad did that to a young girl in a riced out sunfire with his F150 of course i bought him a cold air intake for his bday and a chip for christmas and underdrive pullys for fathers day and installed them for him

If you live in CA it is a requirement that you stick in your lane as long as possible (even well after the painted line ends) in an effort to get one more car ahead in line. Under no circumstances should you EVER let somebody over in front of you, it is state law that they force their way in line.

Hurry up and wait

like in the movie with steve martin, l.a. story, your passenger is responsible for loading your pistol during rush hour traffic...:D sorry, i love that scene...

i've only had one person pass me ever like that and that was a 2001 trans am and i had like no mods on the mounty.

You must visit Southern California then :) It's very exciting and its actually starting to catch on in other places

Funny story, I was in a similar situation with some middle aged woman in an embarassing vehicle - I forget what it was. One of those wanna be SUV things that resemble a minivan. At any rate, she was in the vehicle with her husband, and I took a few glances over, and neither one of them gave me the "you're not getting in front of me" look, or even acknowledged that they knew I was there. But when the light turned, she shocked me and gunned it. I had her by a 1/2 car when my lane disappeared and I had to back off and let her pass. It was hilarious, because I had 2 other passengers, and was completely embarassed by a middle aged woman and her husband driving a frumpy car.

Wow, I didn't even realize this was an old and crusty thread.

Why not bump old threads been kinda slow around here lately;)
