Overspray

OK so yesterday I went to Wal-Mart to get my tires balanced and rotated. To start things off, they told me they couldnt balance a 33 inch tire but they had done it before and I had the paper work that shown they had done it before and then the guy told me that my bfg at's were for off road use only because they had the rim protector on them. After we got the manager out there, he balanced them and everything was ok. When they were done, they parked my vehicle where the painters were painting the exterior of wal mart because they are remodeling. I come outside and didnt really think of anything and then I got home and realized that my vehicle was covered in brown overspray. I went today and got two estimates. One is at a local body shop and it is $591.30 @12 hours of labor and then I took it to the local Ford dealership and they quoted me $1,040.25 @ 25 hours of labor. Wal Mart is going to write me a check later tonight. Im going to try to do this myself because I can take my fingernail and Itll come off. What products would you suggest to get this off?

sweet man, try goo-be-gone, that worked well for asphalt, or some wd40. Im no expert in paint, but i do know that it gets stuff off w/o damaging your current paint job

clay bar/razor blade on windows.

Tell em you only let ford dealers work on your truck

Try the lighter fluid made for Zippo lighters...I don't remember the brand, but my bottle says it's a great as an adhesive remover.

Clay bar will remove overspray. Get 2 kits to be sure

10 bux each at autozone

Go easy with the lighter fluid, it can remove older paint. I would stick to the clay bar kits, they will work great.

Mineral spirits will do the job nicely. My mother in law ran through some new highway paint with her '91 Explorer and I took all of it off with mineral spirits. The mineral spirits do not affect factory paint jobs, but will strip off other types of paint, wax, tar, etc. You will definitely need to re-wax afterwards.

If you have a 1/5th of everclear, that would work nicley too.

Ya, it cleaned me and some others at SR week.

Wash then try claying and use plastic razor blades. Then wash again and polish or glaze.

I have had excellent results removing overspray using Meguiar's Cleaner Wax paste, but that was only on smaller areas.
