- 1994 Ford Exploder XLT
If any one has any suggestions to how I may go about this endeavor I would greatly appreciate it.
I have a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT with the 4.0L OHV V-6 and I believe the AOD 4 gear auto slush-box. It is a 4X4 with the electronic transfer case and manual hubs on the front axle.
On to my question. I had a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria P-71 Police Interceptor (bless her heart) that I snagged all of the coolers and the entire braking system from. I want to know what it world take to make the big P-71 brakes work on my truck and keep the 4X4 as well. I have heard a few things about the cobra spindles for bigger brakes, could those possibly be a viable option?
I also have the dimensions of the P-71 brakes. The Front rotors are vented 11" in diameter with Jaguar based dual piston calipers. The Rears are a single piston caliper with a 10" non-vented rotor. I have all of the brake system components the master, brake booster, the ABS modulator, ect., and all of the mounting hardware/ brackets.
I more or less need an idea of what front spindles I will need. That is my big hang up, but yeah if any has an idea toss it my way.
Thank you all much, I look forward to hopefully getting some info and seeing what we all can offer each other. thanks again - Brian
