1994 Ford Exploder XLT
If any one has any suggestions to how I may go about this endeavor I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT with the 4.0L OHV V-6 and I believe the AOD 4 gear auto slush-box. It is a 4X4 with the electronic transfer case and manual hubs on the front axle.

On to my question. I had a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria P-71 Police Interceptor (bless her heart) that I snagged all of the coolers and the entire braking system from. I want to know what it world take to make the big P-71 brakes work on my truck and keep the 4X4 as well. I have heard a few things about the cobra spindles for bigger brakes, could those possibly be a viable option?

I also have the dimensions of the P-71 brakes. The Front rotors are vented 11" in diameter with Jaguar based dual piston calipers. The Rears are a single piston caliper with a 10" non-vented rotor. I have all of the brake system components the master, brake booster, the ABS modulator, ect., and all of the mounting hardware/ brackets.

I more or less need an idea of what front spindles I will need. That is my big hang up, but yeah if any has an idea toss it my way.

Thank you all much, I look forward to hopefully getting some info and seeing what we all can offer each other. thanks again - Brian

The problem is the spindles. If it were 2wd you might have a chance. But I think it won't work on you 4x4.
If you want better brakes, I understand that you can snag the spindle, caliper and everything from a 95 (i think) ranger. Look into that.

Yeah if it were 2WD i would have grabbed the spindle too and probably have been ok, but nothing can be that easy right? I was thinking about maybe the "F" series front spindle. I know there were a few IFS F-150's with the double I-beam front set up mike mine has. If the dimensions are close enough to mine, I can do some metal fab and get it right on.

YOu can do that, but the bolt pattern is different. so you have to run 5 on 5 wheels up front. On the plus side, this is a common conversion because the bearings are stronger. Drop in the F150 rear axle and you'll be set.

Alright cool, does any one by chance know the gear ratio (final drive) of the truck?

You can search on hear and the ranger station. I can't remember the year. I haven't done the conversion. I think any D44 outers will work. as far as the gearing, you have to check the axle or door tag.
