Hi people,

I need your help.
Since 4 days, I tried to find some informations for my V6 OHV, to win more power and torque.

I found some informations, but not all.

I know that I need to change my exhaust, and I will do.
But I don't know what is better.

And I need to know if it's possible to change some parts on Engine to have more power.

Please help me, I would like to have more power to do Offroad.

Thanks

Swap a 302 in.

Exhaust will give you slightly more than nothing. If you want power in an ohv, you need to throw lots of money at it, and you still won't get a lot out of it. Only thing bolt-ons will do is make your wallet lighter... though, that weight savings might make you faster...

EDIT: Just noticed you were from france, so the 302 isn't an option. You could probably find a newer explorer with the SOHC though... but I don't know how france's emissions laws treat engine swaps.

Thanks.

302 it's an SOHC?
What is the reference of my engine?

For emission, it's not a big problem.

I know ford Explorer with V8 to sell for parts.

302 is a V8. I didn't think second gens with V8s were available there. When I was talking about the SOHC, I meant the SOHC 4.0 V6.

Yeah, if you have access to a V8 explorer for parts, do the swap. It is well detailed on this site, and it will pretty much be the most cost effective swap. More power and torque, and a more reliable engine than the SOHC 4.0.

V8 are available in France, I saw .

But it's not good to do that, with the law. We don't have permission to do that in France.
It's why, I ask you to know the parts to have more power.
If you have possibility please give me a list, I will see and buy.

And I would like to work on this engine, maybe I will rebuild it, it have 174000 Kms

Thanks

you can always put a supercharger on it. they arent cheep, but they do pack a punch

if you only speak french, i hope that site works for you.

Ah, yeah, I was thinking that engine swaps might be out of the question for france...

VZB, he has an OHV, will that kit still work?
