...The storms are moving in fast and they are saying about 20" or more in the LA burn areas..

..Stico, I hope the JP mobile is fueled up and ready for work...

...I've been watching the radar in the previous post and you are getting all the pretty red clouds in your area already..

Lake Arrowhead is supposed to get mostly rain at the beginning, but we're stocked up on food, gas and firewood in case the snow level is lower. We're also pretty sure to see some damage to local highways with some forecasts showing rainfall totals 'substantially higher than historic records'.

Haven't needed to chain up both axles since December... WHEEEE

This storm is huge..

It started here, in NorCal. They expect over 10" in spots.. 5-8" near me, flatlands..

I'm now wondering how much snow in the Sierra's - it's got to be GOOD up there!

...Yesterdays predictions were that the Sierra's are to get a minimum of 6'-10' feet of snow this week...

...We are getting winds along with the rain as this is starting..:thumbdwn:

...Are local mountains are getting rain, and freezing rain but they have predicted snow by the end of the week up to 3' and possibly down to 3000' level...:dunno:

The 1st of 3 storms has hit here, and it is probably done for the day..

Pretty crazy over here, Woke this morning to go to a interview and drove through the rain and super thick fog up here. Getting home was worse, as the fog was gone but rain so heavy you thought it was fog. Streets have become rivers, and the wife is seriously thinking of retiring the Volvo for the week in favor the one-fitty. If me and April need to go out we'll break out the Ex. The scary thing to me is to think that we have a week of this., Strrets are full of water now, it's going to be nasty by the end of the week!!!!

I'd start to expect speeding tickets for Houses sliding down the Freeways, with all the burned areas near you..

...They say the heaviest rain of this first "Little" storm will hit between 3-6pm around here...It will bring T-storms..

...If they could turn the 40mph fan off would be nice...I am not looking forward to the third storm if it is bigger and badder as they predict...

..This is our current light rain condition...(looks like it updates itself)..:dunno:

If this was the small storm, I hate to see what the bigger one will be on thursday. I went down to Newport to check on a couple of client's houses and the wind and rain were pretty bad. Right now it seem's like thing's are quieting down for now. Truckhaven show's rain on Friday, but clear over the weekend and low of 35.

It's going to get worse than this? I wonder how many outages SCE has right now.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A powerful winter storm slammed into Southern California Monday, knocking out power to tens of thousands of customers.

As of Monday afternoon, a total of 44,560 customers were without power, according to Southern California Edison. The hardest hit area is Inglewood where 4,100 customers are without power.
The storm also knocked out power to 2,847 customers in Arrowhead, making it the second largest outage Monday.
Other cities reporting power outages include Hesperia, Beverly Hills, Palos Verdes, Torrance, Long Beach, Thousand Oaks, Lynwood, San Gabriel, South Pasadena and Lancaster.
Crews are working in the stormy weather to restore power. There is no estimate as to when their work will be complete.

Our power was out for most of the day. After driving around a bit, it was no surprise. There were dozens of trees down and at least two highways blocked by falled trees. There were also water company and caltrans crews driving around everywhere making sure the water could find drainage and the highways were clear of mud and rocks . With all the budget cutting, it's nice to know there's still enough in the county coffers for this kind of work. It's good so far, but we'll see what happens when there's twice as much rain and wind in a few days.

...We should be seeing round 2 come in by about noon time...
