Randall's SAS #2

I got the ones pictured (7/8) from Aggie on Pirate. But, I've since changed my mind and will go with the 1.25" Forged Ballistic rod ends.

Copperhead Fab on Pirate has some 1.25" heims with tube adapter and jam nuts for $50 each, which seems a little too good to be true...

Ruff Stuff Specialties has cryo treated 1.25" Heim's with jam nut and tube adapter for $123.50 for a pair.

Apparently I made most of the above up in my addled brain. I had it in memory that what I had purchased were 7/8's rod ends, but now that I've ordered the new ones, I went out to the garage to take a look at what I had so far, and sure enough, I already had six 1.25" rod ends sitting in the back of the truck. Who does that?

Oh well, I guess I'll save them for spares, or a rear three link down the road.

Finally got the new rod ends in.

Comparison of the rod ends that I had purchased previously, and forgot about, compared to the new ones (Ballistic Fabrication 1.25" Forged Rod Ends).

Also, I ordered a truss for the front 60.

Nah, look's a bit thin:D That guinness look's mighty fine too.

Well, it's time for my annual update.

I just got in a new truss for the front axle today (decided to go in a different direction there). Front truss/high steer arms/track bar mount/track bar heims/hydro steering rods pictured. I'll probably move the truss that I had previously ordered to the rear 60.

Should look about like this once it's all installed:

Picked up some 37x12.50x16.5 Goodyear Wrangler MTs with approximately 95% tread. I'll use these largely as rollers/test-fitters until I get everything dialed in and see what size tire might be able to fit.

They'll be mounted on 16.5x9.5 8 lug on 6.5" 12 bolt re-centered H1 wheels with Ballistic Fabrication rock rings, generously painted a nice hammered grey by Kris Guilbeaux.

Also ordered some Reid Racing Knuckles and bronze bushings that should be here any day now.

Just need to order a full hydraulic steering kit to really get things rolling.

I'll probably also go ahead and get new rotors/pads/calipers/studs, and spindle bushings, just to start fresh. And of course some other minor things that I am probably forgetting.

You've gone to plaid! :salute:
