Ranger one - my son’s first Ford. 98 stepside build by 410customs

Sweet build! Lots of great work and swaps in a pretty vanilla build for you. For the rest of humanity this would be our life’s work.

Wow! So this is the Ranger you were talking about! This is rad!! Also looks like that b4000 really helped that out. I assume it’s the same one that my 4x4cm came out of?

Yes! And the passenger doors went into a 2002 ranger, the rear axle will find its way into a 2004 ranger… when we recycle a truck we try to use everything

2 gallon monstaliner “tintable” kit is on its way.

In the meantime she’s getting finalized
@EddieMoney sent us his “old” head and corner lights. Thanks man! Put them to good use here

Since the 06 front dress and trim are all black I am Painting the old 98 stuff Black to Match

The audio cable Came for the head unit so I was able to test and tune the stereo. That little $99 sub sounds pretty good for a single 8” with like no enclosure

I would highly recommend these mb quart 5x7 coaxilas ti anyone looking to upgrade their stock door speakers…. $29 a pair! I put 4 into our sport trac also….

Next week she goes to paint shop
There is talk of front and rear bumpers and a superlift i just happen to have “lying around”
Can’t stop myself!!! Having supportive wife doesn’t help

You have a lucky son. :D
. . . On that note, wanted to pass along that I am still available for adoption. . .

Would really enjoy the write up for this rig if it was on Bring-A-Trailer or similar . . . already a couple hundred mods and it's still just another 410 low effort build. . .

Paul

Thank you!
We do adopt from time to time but you have to sleep in the loft w Ladder access hahaha

Things are settling down a little bit fall is coming kids back in school some big projects completed… this means I get pc time! My son has started us an instagram I plan to also do some vids . But basically I get in front of my computer in the winter months I can do some build threads including summary pages for all these trucks
I spent 4 hours going through pictures on my phone and computer all the way back too Colorado builds. I collected all the builds into folders including trucks atv utv snow machines and property projects…. 410customs is going online! Because it is something my son and his friends and I can all do together ;)

I’m finishing up a full refresh on my wife’s FJ cruiser right now… waiting on limit straps then she’s back on the road! (2 years)

All new suspension front and back full rust treat and undercoat, upholstery clean and several new upgrades

There was enough mudd and dirt in her undercarriage and flares to fill two potholes in my drive
FJ needed all new shocks and a fuel pump sat outside last two seasons… not anymore

Her rear king shocks need rebuilt and I’ve been saving for front ones for this truck. So in the meantime we are running these rough country n3 shocks front and back. It’s very nice tough country to make a loaded strut for the front for 6” lifted applications (no spacer) they are for a Tacoma but I knew they would work on FJ (fingers crossed emoji) they did
She gained 1” Front lift
Only $400 front $100 rear +\-
Now with the limit straps front and back the shocks should last a bit longer ;)

Now the FJ and bronco have permanent spots inside so they are getting some well earned restoration time

My bronco is next

All surface rust was treated and coated
New rear axle seals new rear brakes new ubj (half ton Chevy), new Lca, new inner and outer tre… the list goes on and on
It’s been a lot of work in my spare time. I love it

Now we need to do some serious sanding and prep on this 98 step side :) the paint job is in the mail!

Can I vote meteor in 2024 too? Still a canidate?

That is one of my favorite stickers of all time

That one makes me chuckle everytime. My other favorite is a hat that says:

“According to science, alcohol is a solution”

Hahahahahaha oh man

Monstaliner arrived

They say gas and alcohol don't mix, but I think it tastes alright.

Time to start sanding cleaning and masking
New bissel upholstery cleaner this one has steam! So far seems to work great

Looks like you got adult supervision. What's the cats name?

Cheeto! She’s huge and getting larger

That cat definitely looks like a supervisor!

Jamie tell Cheeto I says hi!

The problem is that is my chair! She is always in it

That won't matter. She'll use his anyway. Furry kids
True, but the chances of the cat being in both chairs at the same time are pretty slim.
