 So last night I was at the red light patiently waiting for it to turn green. I had my left turn signal on, and when the light turned green I inched out in to the intersection to mark my place and waited for cars coming the other way to stop so I could make a left. I guess teh guy behind me was on his cellphone or for some other reason wasn't paying attention, so he looked up and saw the light was green and floored it. Of course, since he wasn't paying attention he didn't see the big black explorer (6" of lift on 33s) sitting about 20 feet in front of him. He slammed in to the back end of my ex probably going about 15MPH, his air bags didn't even go off. I get out of my car, and walk to the back of it. Its a newer Nissan Pathfinder, the guy gets out and of course I know him from work. (Yay, don't have to go through insurance!) He backs his car out from underneath mine, exploding parts of his car everywhere. I look at my car.... I have a scratch on the bumper. Upon further inspection I relized that he actually slammed my dual exhaust in, and created an exhaust leak somewhere near the engine. So I'll take the explorer to work tonight and figure out exactly what all broke. But I'm glad to think that if I hadn't had dual exhaust, I would have ended up with a scratch on the bumber. He's paying for all the exhaust work, I'll be giving him an estimate to fix it on monday when I see him (Of course I'll make sure to make up a fake estimate for thousands of dollars prior to giving him the real one to teach him a lesson :D) His car wasn't so lucky...

The black plastic on the rear bumper got scratched about 1"
I had duals coming straight out the rear, at the edges of the factory tow hitch thingy.
Bent the driver side pipe in and over about 2"
Bent the passenger side into an oval and scratched the bottm of it :(
Pushed the muffler up against the frame, goes clunk clunk when i hit a bump :thumbdwn:
Anddddd.... made an exhaust leak somewhere up front

I'll get pictures when I figure out/fix this fancy iphone thingy  And i'll get an estimate of my damage when I send it out to get fixed tomorrow

(Off topic so I'll sneak it in at the bottom of my post, where in PA are you paraphoe?)

gotta love the 1st gen explorer there built like a rock,im trying to sell my j**P to get another 1st gen explorer...robmurt where u at in pa?

Glad to see only minor damage was done to your Explorer. I got rear ended by a Subaru Forrester a few years ago. The Subaru was totaled, then engine was actually pushed back to its firewall, but the only damage done to my Explorer was a scratched up bumper and bent bumper brackets. Went to a collision center, got a quote for $2,200 gave that price to the A hole that hit me, then bought a new bumper, and brackets, for less then $600, did the work myself, and pocketed the rest;).

I have been rear-ended twice in my '94, and have no damage to show for it yet! (I also have a class IV hitch that sticks out under it!) These things are really built like tanks!

Ahhh! Didn't even think of that. Could have taken it to an exhaust shop and they would have been like: well it's gonna need new this new that blah blah blah and would have cost easily over $500. Then take it to my buddy to fix for $60. Haha oh well I'm sufficed with $40! :D

I've been rear ended before in the ex also. Lady was going about 5 mph and smashed out her grill and headlights and bent the hood down a little bit. I had no damage at all
