My dad talked to our mechanic about it last night and he said you have to replace the whole hub which runs over $300 on 4x4s.

Is this true? Or am i correct in believing that is

nope...

Glacier has a brake thread, have a look at it. The bearings can be removed from the brake disk and hub and replaced cheaply.

He is right...for a second gen explorer but not for yours. You have conventional bearings that go for about $7 each. And his price is a little salty for a 2nd gen hub too. I got mine for under $200 new from Advance Auto.

Thats what i thought, i told my Dad he had to be wrong.

Thanks guys.
