I need to get a brake controler for the one fitty before I can start towing anything. I'd like to try to keep it relly clean in the cab, and really like the new SD factory ones.

Edit: I did find out those nice people at Ford already set up the truck for a brake controller. I need to do is buy a harness and it plugs right in

Tekonsha's are typically rated at the top so go with it.

I went ahead and ordered one;) Got a pretty good deal too. I'll keep you all updated when I get it.

I'll be buying that one too from Trailer Guy the next time I make it up to Redding.

That one looks pretty high tech.

Mine was about $72 at Kragen and had to splice it into my harness. The van wasn't set up for it, but it had the 7 prong plug already. It's adjustable and has the slider for manual braking as well.

I bit much for my poket book there. The P3 was more then I wanted to spend, but I figured if it just plugs in, then I can remove it if I ever get rid of the truck;)

Jonny, I got mine from southwest wheel. Contoller+ 150 Harness, no tax, and free 2nd day fed ex, plus a 5% coupon code I found (god bless the internet!:D) all for $151.95:thumbsup:

They sell just the harness for mine too. So I can use it in different vehicles if I want. So if I ever sell the van (and history shows I will...), I can use it for the next tow rig I have.

You should like that one a lot. I have the Prodigy from Tekonsha, the next step down from that one and love it. My dodge is the fourth vehicle I have had it in and it has worked flawlessly in all of them.

I have one like FROADER, simple and cheap. Its time activated, not inertia like the better ones, but it works good enough for me.

BTW: I copied this nifty little article from etrailer.com

EDIT: I think you made a wise choice on the controller  I've heard nothing but good about them.
