With a heavy load ( at idle ) such as AC blower on high and lights on, it reads 12.5 v. Running it reads 13.8 v and has fone as high as 13.1 v so far.

Could someone tell me where to tap into the tranny lines on a '95 XLT? The fluid lines seem to be metal all the way from the tranny to the radiator, and I don't want to do any cutting if I can avoid it.

Also, the kit came with a third brass tube fitting. Where does this one screw into?

Thanks in advance - I've already learned a great deal from this website.

Road trip with the tranny temp gauge.... at 70 MPH in 95 F weather, the temp rane between 150 and 159 F.

yesterday,I topped off the atf {I didn't add any after I switched the lines,} and went for a ride as well !
it was very hot yesterday,my gauge hit 160 for a split second {while going up a steep & long hill},then stayed between 148 and 157 for the rest of the ride !

Bill, have you noticed your Dekota Digital tranny temp gauge being very warm? Mine has been form the get go' wondering if others notice this before I contact the manufacturer.

Thanks....

Al :, I haven't checked it ?are you saying the pod that houses the gauge.......or the gauge itself," the face" of the gauge since the whole works is hidden within the pod.

I'll check it out during my next drive {going fluke fishing in the morning}

Al :, I took the X for a long drive today {1.5 hours} in very very hot conditions.
on the way home,
the gauge temp went to 169 for a second or 2 ?{ I was bumper to bumper in 100 degree's }

also:, I checked if the gauge was hot,it wasn't on the way out early in the morning.but it was on the way home in the 100 degree afternoon,it must be getting hot from the sun.
that's the only thing I can think of that is making it hot.

In my case, it appears that the gauge is producing heat. Its gerts very warm even in a cool truck at night.

I am gonna contact Dekota today.

Finally heard back from Dekota Digital...

>>The individual round gauges run fairly warm<<

I reckon all is normal then.

Hey guys,
I ordered the tranny filter and a dual guage pod from summit racing. I'm gonna be getting some digital gauges from dakota digital like the ones Aldive has. I was gonna go with the autometer ultra lite white guages but they dont light up at night.

When you disconnet the transmission hoses do you just plug up the end to keep the fluid from running out?

Aldive... I have the same color interrior as you. Where did you get the paint for yours? If you have any left are you interested in selling it? Did you install yours after the cooler or before. I read just about the entire thread but I cant really remember who did what and where. :confused: Which one is in and which is out? Thanks.

I just help or supported the tranny lines so that the fluid would not run out.

I had the paint matched and blended at a local paint store, I am not interested in selling it.

It wi\ould be best to install the filterBEFORE the cooler only if you want the most accurate tranny temp readingm otherwise, it makes no difference.

Good luck......

I would like to mount it before it goes into the cooler for the more accurate reading. Which line do I need to use for that application... Right or left?

You will need to determine the flow direction by disconnecting the lines and BRIEFLY starting the engine and watching which line flows. Run motor only very briefly.

I think this better explained previously in this thread.

Good luck.....

Aldive... How did you get your gauges in the POD? It says they are held in by a "force fit" but I'm forcing and I just dont see how they are going to get in there. Did you have to trim the POD?

I performed a little surgery with my pocket knife on the opening in the Pod; I had the exact same difficulty.

Cut away, my friend,

It doesnt recommend what gauge wire is to be used. I assume something thin is fine.
