Applies to 2016 model only. I believe it is a setting in the left information screen.

Yes I have a 2016, all the menu does is turn the brightness up to regular at all times of the low beams, doesn't turn them off

My reply was based on what your profile shows which is a 2014 Sport.

Peter

Oh sorry didn't get a chance to change that yet

One of these days I will have to try and film this.
I witnessed the light output getting brighter (getting brighter=instantly) when I was entering an underground garage and saw the reflection off another vehicle (in this case the night light symbol also illuminates on the dash).

Moving the light switch from auto to off, completely turns off the low beams.
Sounds like your lights changed from the DRL mode to full low beam headlights. That is why the intensity changed and your dash light icon came on.
That's the way it works.

Peter

Correct, the LED headlamps will be at a slightly lower intensity in DRL vs. regular headlamp output.

I wanted to add...

US Model:
2016 Platinum
Headlight switch = Auto
DRL setting = Off

Yields: No LED low beam, NO signature lights even when transmission is in drive.

Signature lighting

Is there a way to get the signature lighting as the DRL's? It's a 2016 platinum I turned the DRL's off and had it in auto and the signature lights stayed off in drive. Is this normal?

found it. the headlamps have to be on the off position which imo is dumb. they are bright as heck you dont need the headlamps as DRL's all that does is make you like most chevy drivers oh my headlights are on im good when its foggy or very close to being dark and none of your other lights are on.

The LED lowbeams are always on for our Canadian models, but at a reduced intensity.

You think they are bright? I wish they were brighter and i would use them solely as DRL's

Here is my take on using the signature lights for the DLRs. Just as Helicopter says earlier, but my signature lights stay on while in drive if I turn the lights switch on the console back to the off (O) position!

Welcome to the Forum EMSDC.

Correct... switch in off position = sig lights only. I doesn't have to be in drive, just running.

A bit OT but what is the difference between signature lights and DRL's?

I believe signature lights are the strips outside the housing.

DRL are actual low beams that are on during the day. If you want to see the difference park facing a wall and go to the left IPC and turn the DRL on/off and you should be able to see it .

Signature lights are the LED lights around the headlamp. DRL are on the LED low beams at a reduced power and are more visible than the signature lights. In some cases the DRL may be either configurable or non configurable. In Canadian models they are non configurable as they are required by law.
