This is worse than "PowerBlockTV" or the Speed channel shows, just because it's not taking place in neat little 1/2hour chunks. We're actually following in real-time. No editing down to make it easy on the viewer. IZ, you need a shop cam running when ever you are in there! If we all chip in, we can get an easy few terabytes of storage for you to record onto!

call it "Argon"

I bet there's a cloud of sheilding gas over your house the size of Rhode Island.

Some intake flanges arrived - had the cutter make two in case I make a mistake (which is likely). But they are 3/8" thick aluminum.

Fire up the tig!

hmm. those are cool. show us what they are for wont you?

They're for the intake :). But I'm not 100% sure yet which way the intake is going to go - towards the driver's side or the passenger's side, but all that will unfold soon.

Moooarr tubes and started on the steering valve bracketry thing.
Steering wheel is a 11.75" diameter model 687 Karting wheel from Grant.

(conduit tubing to temporarily hold the valve in place)

(in case there are any hydraulic hose accidents, the steering valve's ports are aimed "outwards" to minimize squirting hydraulic fluid onto the electronics and display)

Oh those new thingys look good on the combustion thingy.

Umm gross...

Orbitrol ("steering valve") mounted. Tilt can be adjusted by turning the link at the top with the two heim joints.

So the valve is right on the steering wheel, cool. I've never seen it so close to driver, usually by the steering linkage. Cool, cool.

It should be anodized.

What I like about that is that it cuts out the steering column and runs everything via hoses. Smart thinking IZwack.

Would it be a good idea to make some slight grooves in the that adjustment tube handle thingy so if you need to adjust it on the trail you can get a grip on it even if its slippery. Just thinking out loud.

Good point MrQ - I might redo that link later on out of hex aluminum.

I'm on idle waiting for parts to come in so I've been trying to figure out how the intake is going to go. This is what I have so far (as viewed from the back of the engine) -- which runs the runner tubes over the valve cover on the driver's side and a throttle body facing backwards (for easier linkage to the TB):
