Summer Cliffs run

The one thing that im concerned about is I had to take my tow hooks off when I put on the BL. I need to fig out a way to put them back on, while still connected to part of my frame...but unless somthing comes up, im there.

Well i was looking at my mom's sport, and trying to envision it with a 3" BL. the only thing i could imagine was mounting regular hooks(autozone $20) sideways on the frame rail and using some plate to spread the load. if you know someone that can weld, then welding the plate the frame and having the hook bolt through the brace plate and frame. I dont know if the 3rd gen sports are similar to the 2nd gen frames, but on my truck, i was able to fish the nuts in through the front of the frame rail with some tape and a box wrench.

let me know if i'm way off base. pictures would help too.

Ill put some close up photos up as soon as I can. When I put the brackets on the lift the front clip the blocked off were theyused to go. Ill get the pics asap.....

I'm in, Anyone else plan on camping the night before?

I also just ordered new ball joints top and bottom and inner and outer tie rod ends, so the rid should be safe to drive over there after I get them installed and an alignment...

My friends 93 sport is now 4wd so he'll be coming, and Bigman will be trailering me.

i guess one year in advance is too long. we have to make these runs more last minute lol

OKKKK so, Marc is ordering his lifts, and tires, and gears, etc tomorrow. We are going to TRY and get it all on before we go. At the least he'll be geared and locked.

OH and a few local kids i know with jeeps might be coming.

Yeah I'm down on going (providing someone can take my shift) but what J forgot to mention is that y'all have to help me install all this stuff! Haha, I'm kidding, but any help would be welcomed :) Oh and I'll camp out sounds fun then we can get to wheelin right when they open.

what kind of lockers and lift? i can put you in touch with a guy that geared my dana60's for a good price. he is in peotone though.

Maybe..subscribing..

Would somebody mind a passenger? It sounds like it would be a good time, and I haven't decided yet if I trust the X's tranny to go that far...so, I might just run down on the cycle..possibly. Haven't decided yet.

Skyjacker 4" lift and 3" body lift, aussie lockers, 4.56 gears, 35x12.5x15 probably pro comp xterrains (Jman's tires and rims just bigger tire haha) and warn manual hubs is what I purchased yesterday minus the tires which I'll get today. I got tires actually but they have been on back order for 4 weeks roughly so I need to find different ones. I'd rather just install myself though with help from people because it will save money and be fun too.

I don't mind company BUT it would be my first time driving offroad so I don't know how you feel about that, haha. Could be some good times though, oh and I don't care too much about the truck so I'll probably do stupid ****. Then again I have to drive it home so maybe not. :)

Looks like I'll be the little guy out there...lol

Pretty much :D unless someone wants to buy my 94 on the spot then i'll drive that out too for yah

And Charlie, come on down man there'll be a spot for yah somewhere.

eh, I know I can keep up with your 92... :D

gears is one thing i leave to the pros. by the time you purchase the required tools, you could have paid someone to it for you. i'd worry about gears last. get the lift and tires on for this run, and then you?ll really feel the difference gears and lockers make

Yeah, gears arn't that hard really, just a few things are needed (I've ripped and re-built big semi diffs). It should just be a smaller version, maybe I'm wrong? And my X comes with like 3.27? gears, I can't member but they are small. With big 35s I just would rather not run em with those gears. Besides I'm hopefully getting help from a bunch of people and I should have them soon. So, might as well do it all at once. I mean if the tools are just as expensive as the install, or close, then I'll have someone do it. I have a feeling having someone do it is quite a bit more. How much did you pay for it?

Oh and I have desided on Pro Comp's Xtreme Mud Terrain tires for those of you who are interested. :-)

if you've done semis, then i would think you can do car diffs. good luck. i'm excited for another explorer to wheel with. your rig sounds like it is going to be one mean son of a..... biscuit eater :D

Yeah. that was kind of my thought process. Jman did it too so we should be alright. And yeah man when I went with you and J I looked at offroad stuff all weekend and Monday I told J at school I had to get my own. So, I have and it will hopefully be a good setup. (If it isn't I'm blaming J because he gave me a lot of info and ideas of what to get) haha. Now, I just have to get it all installed and what not. I did the interior while I was waiting for the funds for all my stuff. Well 3/4ish of it at least, so, that part is mostly set.
