yup, have no idea why i didnt think of getting power right at the ignition when i put all of this together, oh wait i know! my brain was mush by the time i was done!
the trans is now getting its power from i believe the yellow and grey wire for switched, and constant from the yellow(?). should have wrote it down, or taken a picture.

I understand the mush brain part hahaha the Holley was a brute to understand and install on our rigs… if you remember I started by chopping up a stock harness only to see step 1 was to remove the stock everything hahahahaha but by the end of it I was completely schooled in Holley terminator meets ford obd2

time will tell. will be chasing you soon for direction on the a/c system, and possibly revise lights. havent drove it a lot in the last week. its major hot. like 104F today hot. dont want to work on it either with this heat. that and i am going to be starting house reno's this weekend up to around the first week of sept, so i also get to live in a construction zone....yay.
i have also had a few ideas on a air box. most guys have manipulated some plastic, then used something to seal it to the bottom of the hood. i think what i am going to do is make it out of cardboard first, then use fiberglass mat over it. then make a flange on top to bolt a clear plexi glass cover on it. have it in my head how i want to do it, just have to do it. i figure this way it wont get hot using metal to form it to the engine bay or hood, then punch a whole into the fender apron with some type of ducting aimed at the front of the truck.
nope, i never overthink anything.

not sure. never looked. i know it will be a little harder doing the way i just said, but if i am going to have something under the hood, i want it to fit like a glove. after all the stuff i have scratch built or modified on this thing, a box should be a cakewalk. but now that i just said that, probably wont.

dont know if you remember what joe's s10 looks like. i built the ground effects for the box, and modified the rear roll pan back in the day. i think i took 15 cold showers that weekend.....

I do remember it. It came out really nice. Body had nice lines, and nice finishing. You did that in a weekend? Impressive. It has to take lots of patience.

tonight (or last night depending on when you read this) figured it was nice out, its the long weekend. im taking evil in for cruise night. washed her for the first time since the beginning of june, vacuumed her for the first time since i cant remember. called up a buddy and away we went. 10 mins from home stopped at a gas station real quick. on the way out hit the loud peddle.
right after that we heard 2 popping sounds.
then i could feel warm air from the firewall.
then i smelt antifreeze.
quickly glanced at the monitor, it was reading 217 and i was on the highway doing around 50mph or 80kms. whipped back to the gas station.

evil had different plans.
ive had one of the rubber lines burst like that before, but i have never seen or hear of the bypass valve breaking like that.

They are simply falling apart because they are 25 + years old now. I have had three vehicles this year w heater control valves broken, they are simply come into pieces.

weird isnt it? no leaks, no smell, both failed at the same time.

with that said, next time your under the hood of any of your 5L trucks, can you take a picture of that valve and how it is placed for me if you dont mind.

so far so good. went in for our cruise night the last 2 weekends. she was running pretty warm but taking it like a champ. next bug to work out is my oil pressure is reading 50 on my monitor. have the same sensor for both oil and fuel pressure. checked the scaling, they both are the same but the fuel pressure moves around. ran it by a friend and we both came to the conclusion i have the power and source wires mixed up. i am so happy this is also located directly under my power steering pump......
still have the cooler air intake floating in my head. i realized a few days ago i am over thinking this, all i need is a filter to put inside the fender, and i will have no need for a air box....duh. just need to make a flange for the filter and intake pipe to bolt onto. still need to move my hid box, and get rid of my fan controller so my holley can control it. all in time. still doing house reno stuff which should be close to done middle of sept.

Can you flip flop the oil sensor wires at the other end so you don’t have to dig under the power steering?

Otherwise I would go from underneath or maybe from the wheel well

i wished i could but when i wired the sensors, i shared power (the orange wire) and ground (black/white) with a couple of them. the oil pressure sensor being one of them.

got real lucky. took the splash shield off, and was able to unplug the sensor. once again my professional wiring skills screwed up not one but two wires.....fixed that. now instead of it saying 50 it would read 44. called lowdoller (thats the sensor that i used). they told me to test the wires to make sure they were correct. tested good. they then told me to verify the scaling was correct, which it was. even the tech guy started scratching his head. he then told me to use holley's 554-102 and not the custom one in the drop down. they told me its the exact same. did that, now when the truck was off it would read -50, but when i started cranking it, the number would climb up to around 15-25 on the monitor. once again the tech guy had never seen that and asked me to email him the global file. this bugged me so i went to see if i still screwed up the scaling when i noticed there is a offset to the right of the sensor drop down menu. it was set to -50. changed that to 0, problem solved, and only took 9 hours!

at least it reads correctly. just have to find where you set the warning to come on. that however wont happen today.
while i was doing that i also looked to see how much room i have to shove a filter in between the fender and fender apron. looks like i will have room to do what i want to do.

depending what you go off lol. the autometer gauge depending on rpm and heat at idle will read around 75, the holley monitor will read around 65. when rpm goes up, they both kinda balance out. still have to stop by one day. not in the city too much lately, but i am off next week doing house stuff. might have to go for a drive over in the evening.

the problem is finding it, then adjusting it. give me too many options, and i confuse myself lol.
