..The old ones or the new ones?

..I took two pictures yesterday with my phone of both tab set-ups together and they came out blurry..:banghead:

Here is a link for the new ones..I'm actually on my 3rd or fourth set due to swapping axles and set-ups but my Ranger use the same ones..;)

Keep an eye on the upper shock mounts. The mounts flex quite a bit and mine cracked across the entire mount.

...What did you do as a repair?

I've had my shocks try to rip out in both directions and I'm surprised the mount hasn't tore loose yet but I haven't looked at it real close lately..:(

I cut out the cross brace and put in a piece of 3/16" wall 2x2 square tubing.

If you really want me to make you up a set of frankenleafs I can. You supply the leafs and a few beers and it should take about an hour. I think I figured out how to partially military wrap the second leaf by cutting off about 2/3 of the bushing eyes. That would take care of another weak long if it works.

Are those top mounts single sheer now or is there something on the other side of making it double sheer?

I expected you to use square tubing and cut out the bottom piece so the shocks would go up/into the square tubing and use the walls as the mounts for double sheer.

..well...trucks been running fantastic but...

I am currently broke down in bullhead city..sounded like the starter hung and before I could get pulled over I lost forward gears..

Looking for local help..

...seems like starter cranks but pulleys don't turn..

So I'm thinking starter prob or timing chain let loose..:dunno:

IIRC, sirhk100 lives close (Vegas).

That is the first name that comes to mind.

I doubt the chain popped, but you can check that easily.. Does the crank spin?

If so then the starter is turning the crank which is actually bad (assuming the belt is still on everything).. Since that would mean the starter is engaging the teeth and the teeth are connected to the flex plate and the flex plate is connected to the crank.

Use a jumper wire to jump + battery to the starter solenoid so you can see the crank while running the starter.

..I think joeyjarhead lives out here but he doesn't post much..

I'm going to trt andsee if ghe fly wheel spins but need a second hand

We may be posting out of sync..

BUT, take a long piece of wire and run it from the + battery and another one from the starter solenoid on the fender (small wire plug on the solenoid). You want them long enough so you can touch them together as you watch the crank or flexplate (that's an auto right?). When you touch them, the starter will engage.

...We think I lost the flex plate..

I'm looking for somewhere to toe my truck to to work on it a bit or work on getting it home..

..I'm currently looking for someone in the victorville area to help me out..

I have 200 mile towing bt since I am crossing state lines I need a name and addy of where I'm heading..:banghead:

.I have had a couple race teams i know reach out trying to help me out but they are all heading different directions..

..I am currently working with a local tow co. to see if we could work something out..

..My mechanic buddy at home is heading out for a race and won't be home till the end of the month so won't have a place to work on it so getting it home will be good enough..

Stay tuned..:D

..They were and the truck has never run better as it did on this trip..

.Age and mileage aided in this failure plus we beat on the trucks a bit this trip..:D

As long as its the flex plate its rather simple..;)

Over did it pulling the MAN?

Kinda makes ya wonder about that bottom end noise you had that later went away. Flex plate may have already been cracked?

Single shear. Been like that for over ten years. I was thinking about making it double shear but if it ain't broke.....

Ted, sorry to hear about your vehicle troubles. Wish you were further southwest.
