TDS '08 Who's going?

I've been checking this site and more importantly this thread out for a little while. I'm new to the site but would love to go out with you guys to tds. I've been taking the X out every weekend to santiago, main divide, eg. but have no wheelin partners. Not sure if you guys would mind a new guy coming out or if i need to do a little run to prove my worthyness......

..welcome aboard and don't be shy....i myself will not be at tds but, hit me up anytime...if you click on my eliteness or ranger registry in my signature, you will find recent trail runs including the main divide...most of the runs are pretty much 4wd but some do include 4x2's and you can come out to most runs and be a ride along...;)

Come on out. It's always good to meet new people to wheel with. Plus I'd like to see an '03 sport with 8" of lift and 35s. :)

I'll be passing you on my way out there (91) and would be glad to caravan if you were thinking of heading out Friday night. I was going to wait until about 7pm to leave to let the traffic die down (not sure why, it's the 91 :p:) so let me know.

I was actually thinking about leaving friday nite as well. I'd definetly be down to meet you somewhere off the 91. I've been out to ocotillo and know why truck can handle that, but how about where we're going.....can a 2wd handle some of the trails?

Sweet man. Are you down for small runs during the weekend? I try to run it once a week, usually very local. I'm trying to find the carbon canyon trail and possibly some corona trail I've heard about.

For Truckhaven, If you have a locker you'll be able to keep up for the most part. If not, you're screwed really. :)

It depends on what we do too. There are usually bypasses to the harder stuff that a 2wd won't make. When we get way back there though there is no way around the hard stuff because the trail is only as wide as the truck.

You can't be afraid of body damage when we get back in there, where we like to be. :D

...if you go out with these guys to tds, you won't come back looking at the local trails the same...click on that link i referred to and check out some of the runs...;)
...pm me your number and we will chat...btw, i'm at the 91/55 by fry's...:D

...back to your regularly scheduled tds thread...:salute:

I'm not trying to scare you off with these at all.

For reference, this is the same trip. You may see a theme here and it may look like the same spot got everyone, but each of these happened at different place out there.

If you search "return from truck haven (or truckhaven as one word) you'll see some of the trails.

Hee Hee, :D that was "Taillight Canyon" - they never let me lead again :(

I do not have a locker. Where is a reliable shop I can get one and not spend a huge amount of money? I went to dependable offroad today, but no luck there. These are gonna be the first crazy trails that I do. Alot of those trails at truck haven I dont think I'd make because I'm so high especially in the front end. If I can't do some of the runs I have no problem just haulin ass thru washes all day or hitting some easier hills on my own. I'm bringing the lady too so if there's not enough room to ride along thats cool too. I just wanna get out and see how my X really handles. :D

As far as body damage my truck is clean, but if it gets a little beat up well I guess it's all in good fun.

ummmmm If he comes up with a lunchbox locker in time...we could install it out there:D Pretty easy install... It's just the brake in period would be kinda out the window:rolleyes:

That is the same phone number. I looked at that Bronco today, its real thrashed.
I bought the high pinion D44 with arms, coils, brackets, steering, and everything else it came with stock. He even opened it up for me so I could see it was nice and rust free inside. Newer brakes, rotors, calipers, and Warn hubs, all for $120.00. Going to take it apart, stick it in the shed and leave it there until I decide to do the switch, then can decide if I want full width or to cut it down. Pretty good deal. He has two more D44's, one for $80.00.

Guess who the seller is..............okay, I will tell you; Justin McNeil of McNeil Racing, Fiberworx, Perry's, etc. Nice kid, met his Dad. They have a lot more stuff for sale, have to get it out of their yard within a few weeks or the county is going to fine them. Several Ford trucks, one white 92 Eddie Explorer without an engine for $400.00, a running 98 sport with fiberglass fenders for $1,500.00, and a bunch of other stuff. Good, straight body and interior on the Eddie. A Stock Samuri for $1,000.00 that runs, and.............Two Ford 9" rears, one gusseted and set up for a three link, with Currie axles for around $300.00, and one stock with drums for $100.00. If you want something Ford, give him a call, he might have what you are looking for.....cheap.

Now, I just need to borrow a truck to get it home.........time to call my Brother.

I would not worry about the locker this trip...........since we are camping on the Ocotillo Wells side. Not too much extreme four wheelin' over there. I thought of a good night run though; go watch the crazies on Blow Sand, then go around the back side of Blow Sand and into the hills over there. If I remember, there are some fun hills and such in that area. Also need to remember to keep out of $50.00 Hole....I bet its a lot more expensive now. Its a hole that is nearly impossible to get back out of due to very loose sand and steep cliffs.

If you decide to cut it down, don't! I'll trade you housings, because I want full width. :)

YOU shoulda picked it up for $80! :banghead: :p:
Well, I only need one, so I picked the one with the radius arms, coils, brackets, good rotors and calipers, and Warn Hubs for $40.00 more. Besides the one for $80.00 has been in a rollover, which twisted the radius arms all up.
