Tear Drop Looks?

i don't know about anyone else, but does the rear axle center section seem slightly off center too?

The rear axle is offset, one axle shaft is ~1" longer than the other. They offset it for universal joint life. The offset makes the needle bearings make full rotation rather than staying in one place = longer life.

I had a 95 Thunderbird with directional wheels, there was two lefts and two rights, its a real pain when the guys at the tire shop don't realize that and mount directional tires the wrong way or do a rotation. :)

I had the same thing on my 95 Taurus SHO, two left and two right rims. I was told they were made so that when they spun they would draw air onto the rotors and not to put them on backwards or it would drive wierd.

Are you being sarcastic?

directional wheels are far and few between now a days especially on stock vehicles

Corvettes, four different wheels, rotate, how?
