Those umm heims are probably beat (squeaking), so you might want to replace them sometime this year or something. They are just regular female right-hand 3/8" heims.

Update:

Removed T-case shifter that wouldn't work.

Replaced with a nice shifter made by none other than IZwack himself. This thing is stout!

Had to find new bolts for it, dang that was a PITA! Here is what it takes to mount the shifter to the transmission:

The big bolt is a 9/16" x 1" course thread. This only goes into trans 3/4" before it bottoms out.

The small bolt is 10m x 1.5 x 1/2"L this only threads into the trans 3/8" before it bottoms out.

It works like a charm, shifts smooth, and easily goes into gear. I got a new brushed titanium knob for it, smallest one I could find.

Nice rig man. How was the shifter made? I need one for my '94.

Found an oops today :(

Bronco2guy woods are to much for my rig.

After loading the rig to go to B2guy meet, the rear squated too low for my liking, so I slapped on the Warn153 for a little height in the back.

This is what I found, the left tow hook is bent to the left, so disregard it.

Now I'm not really sure yet whats going on here. The shackles are not bent, but they both are leaning to the pass side, the dr side more so. You can see the bushing all messed up on the lower dr side shackle.

Did my rear end come loose and shift? Did I bend my frame? I cant tell.

Damn...To me it looks as if the driver side leaf pack is twisted some.

i would pull the leaf packs and see if they're still straight... you either bent on of them or destroyed the bushings. I don't think you bent your frame.... how much were you flexing?!

I'm planning on tearing it down this weekend to see whats going on.

I was flexing like MAD out there a few times. I also went up this steep embankment backwards, and I think the shackles dug in the ground when doing so. I'm pretty sure thats when it happened. I can't think of anywhere else I would have done it.

Did I mention I hate extended Shackles? Time for a few more leafs added to each pack!

if i were you i would consider doing the F150 leaf pack mod as well for some extra height. that should give you another two inches if you add the whole thing in between all yours.

I really wish i could do that. stupid mono leaf... :(

Greg have you thought of doing an SOA and sloping the BL I seen a thread yesterday on that and the explorer didn't look as bad as I thought it would, at least it would make things more clearance-able in the rear.

The thought of going SOA has crossed my mind many many times. That option is still on the table. I would be able to leave my custom packs on, and maybe remove one leaf leaving me 4 on each pack. That might still be too high, and I would have to slope the BL then. My shocks are good to over 28" extended, so I think I'm ok there.

What do the upper shackle mounting holes (in the frame) look like? It appears they are not parallel to the ground (hence, the rotated shackles.)

My evening was busy, I will snap some pics of the frame mounts tomorrow.

Too top it all off, the trans is really screwed. When placed in Drive, it will not shift into 2nd. It's not like it was placed in 1st either. The rpms climb, and when the throttle is released, it coasts like it is in neutral, no engine braking happening. Now if it is placed in 2nd gear, it will act normal, shifting into 2nd from 1st. Weird. I'm wondering if that has something to do with how the T-case shifter is installed, but it does it in 4H also. So I dunno what to think.

Does it act that way in low range?

I didn't even try leaving the drive in low range. It moved forwards & backwards in low(in the driveway), so I figured it was all good. I haven't tried to leave the driveway in it since its trip back home from B2guys meet over a week ago. I knew the trans was messed up, but it still shifted thru the gears on the way back.

I remember reading about it being messed up but was curious as to if the low range made a difference in the operation of it. To me it wouldn't make much sense for the new shifter to be of trouble with the transmission unless its interacting with the linkage cable.

If the shift lever is not lined up right, I think it can mess with the how it goes into gears. I had the same prob with a 4405 that had a clutch pack blow. Being that the 1354 is a totally diff animal, I am not 100% sure.

i have to agree, the shifter wouldn't change anything unless it touches the linkage. and i think it might have something to do with third being shot... i remember reading somewhere that when in drive you don't start in first, you start in second. which would mean that third is your problem and why when you put it in second you get a shift from 1st to second.
