Rick, you've been busy there, your mailman must love you.;) I checked and I have had only 132 orders so far this year, I'm trying to cut back some.

I ordered three long pieces of shrink wrap, I think they were all 36" long. Amazon sent them in a box about 6x8x24", some paper wrapping and all three folded in half. Nothing knew of course, who does the packing, rather not know I think.

Amazon saved that much just in shipping. That doesn't count how much time and fuel I have saved not having to run into town for stuff, or the fact that much of what I order isn't available at all locally. I even buy some grocery items from Amazon. I got sick of Safeway discontinuning items I like, so instead of switching to a store brand or doing without I order from Amazon.

It is a 20 minute drive to the nearest town and there isn't much to be had in the city of Surprise even less in Wickenburg. Amazon has made living in a rural area much easier and more affordable.

This is probably my largest free shipping score...

I even bought the shelves on Amazon.

Very true. I deliver in places that the residents would be driving 20+ minutes to the nearest grocery store, and the traffic is bad most of the time there. I get things also that locally either are hard to get, or the prices are wildly too high most of the time.

Funny that a new cereal for me is Frosted Bran, I just got it yesterday from Amazon. Walmart lists it being in stock, but twice I've not found it, so I check Amazon and it's no more expensive, so an easy choice.

Convenience comes at a price. I prefer to touch and look at items before I purchase. These mega companies have killed all of my small biz owners, and many large chains I could do just that. I have had Amazon Prime since the mid 2000's, and cringe at every membership price increase. We really don't have a choice in this either, as they are the only places to buy things we want.

I can't stand this post pandemic society we have been forced to live in. Making online shopping the normal is Horse pucky to me.

I agree. Except the last time I used AutoZone I had to go there one evening to prepay to order a part.
When I went the next day, the same guy was there. He closed, and opened the store but didn't bother to brush his teeth, shave, or, change clothes.
I'd rather wait another day for a part. The stores better stop being greedy, and hire real people.

Edit Sorry bout whacking your thread.

We moved out here in 2004. Free Amazon Prime delivery started in 2005. We started with them in 2007.

Almost everything I buy from Amazon would be special order at any local store.

The guy who started the Wickenburg car club went to Autozone earlier this year and had a major issue with the counter guy understanding what he wanted. I guess he raised his voice and the AZ employee called the cops and had him trespassed from the store. He is no longer allowed on their property. 🤣

technically you probably could use those gaskets. its past the bolt holes and header pipe opening.
you have no idea how awesome free shipping is to a canuck! i used ebay tons then the shipping just got out of control. i never used amazon ever until i had a fire tv box and had to get a account. i hardly ever ordered anything off there up until 2 years ago. now i have to say i buy not a lot of things, but smaller harder to find stuff here. or stuff that i know will be on the doorstep within 2 days vs a week or longer.

Yeah, in a pinch I would have. Not in any hurry, and getting another set delivered isn't that big a deal. Taking them to a UPS store to return them is the not so fun part. It was just incredibly stupid to how they packed and shipped them. I had to poke fun at their dumbass for it. :D

I use Amazon the same as you do. I prefer shopping at a store.
