How much are a set of superlift springs anyways?

$132 each side, plus I'd need a "rear box kit"-Its over $100. I can't find it on summit. I have to have it, it has bushings that are required because the eyes in the springs are oversized.

Yeah, I scrape my Warrior shackles when I'm off-roading already. I can't imagine what it would be like if they were lower. (but I don't have my hitch connected to take all the hits on departure)

The Superlift springs and box kit would be a tad over $400, not too bad I don't guess, if the box kit came with shocks.

These Superlift Superide lift leaf springs feature a spring rate that is reduced as much as possible, to emphasize suspension travel and a more compliant ride.

My concern is the superlift springs are as soft as possible, for more flex offroad. I like that idea, but when I haul stuff or pull trailers, its going to squat like a biatch. I am selling my big ole camper, so it won't be such an issue, but when I do tow, its going to be a pain.

EDIT: Well, they show an application for a SUA and Explorers/Mountaineers, but would they work on high arch leafs? (is it leafs or leaves???)

Umm, maybe call them and ask? I think people on this board have run them on Explorers... It was a guy in Illinois, he had a gold/tan lifted 4 door on 32's (SplashMan?)

Well the departure angle would still be determined by the leaf spring and shackle dimensions, they would be the same distance from the ground. The truck is just going upward a few inches, the bumper included. My other thought was, is there a different leaf spring from another vehicle which would be appropriate for the weight, and function in a longer range of motion? How about an F150 set, or another common off road truck? If another vehicle has a better range of motion with its leafs, why not make frame and rearend mounts which accept those leafs and shackles? After much thought and consideration, I have decided to so SOA. I am going to locate a decent set of stock springs, weld on new perches and use my factory shackles. Hopefully it will be around 5" of lift, enough to have a slight rake but soft ride.

I will probably ditch the sway bar and see how it feels, if I don't like it I will rig it up to work.

I have longer shocks, but if I flip the plates, I don't know if they will be too long??

If you flip the plates, even the stock shocks are too long and you'll bottom out. Most people use their stock shocks and mount them to the top bolt where the sway bar bolts to the frame.

Evan, I run custom Deavers. Couldn't be happier. Better than stock ride and incredible carrying capacity. They'll arch them for just about any ride hieght you want. I still vote for the SOA for off-roading. Im considering doing this myself but still using the Deavers so I can tow/load the way I do now. I cant figure out how to get enough front lift though, the Superlift isn't enough. Tell me how yours ends up.

I'll check cost when I get home, they were one of the first mods I made. I think about $250 installed. I live about 30 min from them. The off-road shop doing my skid plates and shocks sent the truck over to them (I work way too much to do much of my own work, though I always have to "fix" something when the truck comes back). I asked for 2-3 inches of lift and to be able to carry 1500lbs on the back. It came back 3 inches up but settled to just over 2 from stock. I load the X up to about 6100 lbs (truck itself) when towing and the other day I put 3000lbs in and on the X. The springs drop about 1 to 1 1/2 inches then stop.

Forgot, Deaver used the saging stock springs. Re-arched them complete with heat treating and added two additional leaves, new spacers and new U bolts. Don't know what this would cost by mail but not cheap I would guess. If you need lift and must retain carrying capacity, this is the only way to go IMO.

Im gonna be doing an SOA soon too. The plan is to completely redo the shock mounting and run some 2.5" resi shocks, just not sure what stroke to go with yet. I also plan to try to keep the stock SUA mounting plates so i can change back when i can afford the 800$ for deavers. Hopefully thats possible, but i havent gotten under the truck to plan anything out yet. Good luck with your SOA evan..

I can get you spring perches for $24 from Fort Collins 4x4 here in town. I doubt shipping would be too bad. They'll need to be cut (or plasma'd) to a 3.25" axle tube. (No one makes a 3.25" axle tube spring plate, Dana 60's only have a 3" tube)

Thanks Hokie, I am looking locally to see if I can find some, but I am having a hard time. I hate to ask you to go over and get em, box em and mail em to me.

I think I want new plates, I don't like the look of the stockers flipped up side down, plus I want bigger u bolts 7/16" or 1/2" for strength.

If I can find some place that can supply it all, that would be easier, but I am having a hard time finding such a place.

Plate, U bolts, Perch, and Shock mounts so I can use my lift shocks still.

Kinda steep, but I would have to buy new stock length shocks, perches, plates and u bolts.
